Textured Blossoms

The Blossoms in Bloom stamp set has very quickly become my go-to when I need to make a quick card. I'm trying it out in a few different colour combos. This one is Rococo Rose, Bumblebee and Just Jade. After I'd stamped I used the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder to give it a fabric-like texture.
I only added some ribbon and a sentiment to finish it off.

CCMC618 Whale of a Time

It's Thursday, and that means it's Challenge time again over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com.
This week is a sketch challenge, and this is the sketch we had to work with:

I've been itching to play with the Whale of a Time Suite in the new Catalogue, and this was the perfect opportunity. I created my underwater scene using a sheet of the Whale of a Time Designer Series Paper. I stamped some extra little schools of fishies on there in Pool Party ink. Mama whale and her baby are also snipped from the DSP. The Whale Punch cuts out the stamped Whale image AND images from the DSP too. Very handy!

For my colour scheme, I've taken colours from the DSP. The colours I wanted to accentuate are Pretty Peacock and Granny Apple Green, so I chose them as my cardstock colours. I also added some texture with the Seabed 3D Embossing Folder.

How perfect is this sentiment? So cute!

This was such a fun card to make! Now I need to use all the other underwater creatures in the Suite. Check out what the other talented stampers have come up with HERE. Don't forget you can play along over on the facebook page!

Forever Greenery

I always love having new patterned papers to play with. This year there are lots of gorgeous patterns to choose from. I've used one of my new favourites on this card - Forever Greenery. As you can see, the colours are right up my alley!

With paper this beautiful, I didn't need to do much else on this card. I used 2 pieces, and left a small gap between them. I finshed off with a punched sentiment and a pretty bow.

Thanks for stopping by!

CCMC617 Fancy Phrases

It's Thursday, and that means it's Challenge time again over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com. This week is a colour challenge, and these are the colours we had to work with:

These 3 bright colours work so well together, and I thought they'd be perfect for some flowers. I borrowed a layout from the new Annual Catalogue, and put my own spin on it. I did lots of white on white on white, so the colours really pop.

This stamp set is called Fancy Phrases and it was a must-have for me. For $70, you can get it as a bundle with the Fancy Tag Topper Punch...bargain!

I think one of my favourite things on this card is the new Square Vellum Doilies. I cut one in half and have it peeking out either side of the main panel. So easy, but really effective. I also cut a notch out of each corner using a circle punch. I used 2 punches for the sentiment - Label Me Fancy and Label Me Lovely (trimmed down).

To finish it all off, some Polka dot tulle ribbon, and a few of the new (gorgeous!!) Elegant Faceted Gems...you're going to be seeing these a LOT!

I hope you like my card! Check out what the other talented stampers have come up with HERE. Don't forget you can play along over on the facebook page

Meet the 2020-22 In Colors!

So, what do you think of this year's batch of In Colors? Thanks to my part-time job (which has been more like full-time lately) and hubby's unexpected complications from ear surgery, I haven't had as much time to get to know them as I would have liked.

So, today I decided to test-drive them all in one go! The 5 new colours don't always work well together, but this year's batch definitely do! On this card, I used Misty Moonlight for the vase, Just Jade for the leaves, Cinnamon Cider for the ribbon and sentiment and Magenta Madness and Bumblebee for the flowers.

Just about everything else on this card is also new:

  • I couldn't resist the Boho Indigo Product Medley. You get lots of bang for your buck with these Medleys and this one has designs and colours that are right up my alley.
  • In the background, I've embossed a piece of vellum with the new Dainty Diamonds 3D embossing folder
  • For a bit of sparkle, I placed a few clear Elegant Faceted Gems

Do you have a favourite new In Color? So far, I am loving them all!

June Blog Hop

Welcome to another Stampers Anonymous Team Blog Hop!
For June we have a Colour Challenge. You can make the complete circuit and see all the lovely creations by following the links at the end of each post.

Here is what I made with these 3 colours:

These colours are definitely NOT in my comfort zone! Looking at my new rubber from the new Catalogue helped get the inspiration flowing. The Happiest of Birthdays set was one of the first things on my wishlist. I love a big birthday greeting, that does all the hard work for you. I also pulled out some brand new Designer Series Paper (called Artistry Blooms) and found a sheet in these colours. The rest is all about the extra details:
  • Rather than stamping in one colour ink, I used a dauber to sponge the top in Daffodil Delight, the middle in Rich Razzleberry and the lower half in Gorgeous Grape
  • I added texture with the Tasteful Textile embossing folder
  • Rather than just stamping on a plain rectangle, I gave it a cute stitched scalloped border using the Stitched So Sweetly Dies
  • The final touch is bling - a Brass Foil border, some Gilded Gems and some gold thread
I hope you like my card! Thanks for stopping by. Click on the button below to move to the next stop:
