CCMC512 Rooted in Nature

It's Thursday, and that means it's Challenge time again over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com.
This week is a sketch challenge, and this is the sketch we had to work with:

Our new Catalogue is LIVE tomorrow (ordering begins at 12 noon!). To keep you going until then I have one last sneak peek for you today!

• I've used the new Rooted in Nature stamp set on this card. It is full of beautiful images taken from nature. I coloured my tree using the 'thumping' technique. I first inked up the whole image in Crumb Cake ink, and then I lightly tapped the brush tip end of my markers over the top (a bit like you are playing a drum!). I used autumnal colours - Cajun Craze, Soft Suede and Grapefruit Grove. I then coloured the trunk and branches in Early Espresso before stamping onto Whisper White cardstock and cutting out.
• Both panels are new Designer Series Paper - called Nature's Poem. The subtle patterns work really well with the images in the stamp set. I've added extra depth with some sponging.
• The sentiment is from another new stamp set, called Varied Vases.
• The embossing folder is called Pinewood Planks and is carrying over into our new catalogue. I've sponged the edges of my Sahara Sand cardstock too.
• Another old favourite, Linen Thread is an old favourite and will be in our new catalogue

Easy DSP-easy!

I love Using Designer Series Paper, especially when the patterns are so stunning that all the hard work is done for me! I used Designer Series Paper to make some displays for my Open House earlier this year. Above is Painted with Love, for some simple cards, boxes and candles.

CCMC511 Graceful Glass

It's Thursday, and that means it's Challenge time again over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com.
This week is a colour challenge, and these are the colours we had to work with:



Blues and Greens are always a joy to use for me, so I didn't struggle with this one. I've pulled out some new products to play with too. The main image is part of a new stack of Graceful Glass vellum. The stained glass images are so elegant. I've coloured the reverse side using Stampin' Write markers. The colour that shines through is soft and diffuse (and rather suitably it's called the Stained Glass technique!).
I've used the co-ordinatiung Painted Glass stamp set for the sentiment. The gothic font is perfect for this style of image.

Come and Meet the New Colours!

Our new Catalogue is just around the corner, and rather than having one big bash, this year I've decided to host a series of Mini Launch Parties ...actually, they are more of a cross between a class and a launch party!
We'll be making these 5 cards and matching envelopes, you'll get to play with ALL the new colours and make a colour chart to take home, you'll receive a handy Colour Inventory, and there will be cupcakes and champagne to welcome in the new Catalogue.

Share What You Love in Copper

I think the Share What you Love Suite just gets prettier every time I play with it! This was a quick and simple one, using a tried and true layout. I think it's pretty much impossible to make a bad card using these products! I've added a touch of copper to this card. I think it complements the Mint Macaron and Rich Razzleberry really well.
