Magnolia Frame

One of the first things I wanted to make when I got my Magnolia Lane products was a 3D, lifelike magnolia. This is the result! I decided it was a bit bulky for a card, so I took the glass out of a frame and popped it in there. I made my magnolia using 3 different punches (listed below). I used a bone folder to curl the petals, and sponged the centres with So Saffron ink.

I was pretty happy with the result. What do you think?

Hot Air Balloon Flowerpots

It's been a while since I did any Punch Art, but when I saw the Hot Air Balloon Punch, I could see a flowerpot in the balloon basket. All I needed was some leaves and flowers (thanks, Vases Builder Punch!) and voila, little potted tulips. I made them in the 5 new In Colors - Terracotta Tile is the perfect pot colour, and my tulips are Purple Posy, Pretty Peacock, Rococo Rose and Seaside Spray. I used Mint Macaron for the leaves.

A Pop of Petals

This would have to be one of my go-to colour schemes - Black and White with a pop of colour (in this case, one of my faves - Coastal Cabana). Pair that with a Punch and Stamp set bundle (Pop of Petals), and you have a quick and easy card.
I'm trying to resist using the Subtle embossing folder on every single card I make! I love how it makes plain cardstock not-so-plain.

A Special Birthday Card

We hit a milestone in our family recently - my baby girl turned 21! That called for a very special birthday card. I incorporated some of her favourite colours, and her favourite animal to make a little cutie peeking through the flowers.

We've had a lovely time celebrating with her. She and I spent a day at the zoo (revisiting her childhood!) on her birthday, then we had family dinner at a Japanese restaurant (her favourite cuisine) followed by cupcakes and pressies at home. Then a 'High Tea' Party celebration the weekend after.... so I think you could say we well and truly marked the occasion!

My colour scheme is Petal Pink, Grapefruit Grove, Calypso Coral and Soft Sea Foam, with a splash of copper.

Varied Vases Card #1

The Varied Vases bundle would have to be one of my favourites from our new Catalogue. This week I'll be showing you 3 cards, all with the same sketch and the same bundle, but with 3 very different looks.
So Card #1 ...The only stamping on this card is the sentiment! I have snipped the flowers from the Share What You Love Designer Series Paper. I've used the same paper to punch the vases, and for the background panel too. The scalloped edge is also snipped from the paper. Yes, I love this paper!
The sentiment is from the Varied Vases stamp set, embossed in white on black cardstock. I've also pulled out my most-used framelit set, Stitched Shapes. I usually don't bother putting these away, since I use them so often!
