Yet another Catalogue CaSE!

This one is from page 28:

A quick and easy masculine card this time, starring washi tape. I'm having a bit of a love affair with washi tape...don't tell my husband! Let's just say that you'll be seeing lots more washi tape from me.
I went a bit grunge-y with this one. Gorgeous Grunge is such a great set for masculine cards. The sentiment is from Delightful Dozen...another set I pull out all the time.
I wouldn't normally use Calypso Coral on a bloke-y card, but paired with Crumb Cake and Basic Grey, I think it works.

Best of Modern Medley

I'm loving the "Best of" sets that we are getting each month. It's fun to revisit stamp images that I thought were gone forever, and use them in new ways.
For this card, I've used the Best of Flowers set - the hydrangea image - and one of our new DSP sets, Modern Medley. Black and Vanilla is always such an elegant combination, and that's what you get with this DSP - in 12 different patterns.
I've also used one of the new Very Vintage Designer Buttons, and some crochet trim on this card, to go with the elegant feel.

Another Catalogue CaSE

This one is from page 84:

Again, I've used the layout from the Catalogue, but changed the colours and stamp set. We have so many lovely blue-green shades to choose from now...it almost makes up for the loss of Baja Breeze.
For this card, I've used Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana and Island Indigo. I've used the Happy Day stamp set, and punched and layered the medallion image.

Washi Smile

...very appropriate, because washi tape does make me smile, especially the Gingham Garden pack! It's so pretty and girly.
Here I've created a really quick background panel, by tearing off strips of tape. The "smile" greeting comes from the Happy Day stamp set. When I made this card, I didn't have any Candy Dots yet, so I made my own by punching out tiny circles and topping it with a layer of Crystal Effects...it works, but now that I have Candy Dots, I can tell you which is easier!!

1 sleep to go!

Only one more sleep until I hop on a plane, bound for Salt Lake City!! I'm going to be part of the US Convention (along with 6000 other Demonstrators...eeek!). After that, qualifying Demonstartors from Australia, New Zealand and Europe will spend a week enjoying a Grand Vacation for ourselves and a guest, all expenses paid. We will be touring Stampin' Up!'s Home Office and Manufacturing facility, as well as doing the usual perfect mixture of group activities and relaxation (and shopping!).
As if all that wasn't exciting enough, after that Dave and I are taking an extra week to visit Vegas, the Grand Canyon and San Francisco.

CaSE-ing the Catalogue

When I needed a whole lot of sample cards in a hurry for my Launch party display, I turned to the catalogue for inspiration. I didn't have to look far to find some samples to copy and call my own!
For this card, I took my layout from the card on page 27:

I've changed the colours and a few other details too, but it hardly took any time at all to make because most of the designing was done for me :o)
I've used Smoky Slate (LOVE this colour!!), Basic Grey, and Raspberry Ripple for my card. The sentiment and flower centre are from the Happy Day stamp set. I've used the Artisan Label Punch (3 of them) to make my decorative edge. The Delicate Details Lace Tape adds a special touch.

Grungy Lizard

This is the second card all of the ladies got to make at my Launch Party:

And this is the reason I changed the colour scheme for my other card. I originally made this one in blues and browns but it just wasn't working for me, so I moved to brighter colours - I am loving Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry and Strawberry Slush together, so I went with that.

I've used 2 of my favourite new stamp sets on this card - Gorgeous Grunge (you're going to be seeing a LOT more of this one from me!) and Tag It. Tag It is the Ronald McDonald House Charity set. I'm so happy that Australia now gets to be part of Stampin' Up!'s sponsorship of this charity. $3 from each set sold will be donated to Ronald McDonald House Charities. To date, Stampin' Up! have donated over US$1 million to RMHC. It's great that we can now be part of that.

A few little tips if you'd like to recreate this card:
* I made my banner piece 3.5cm wide. This is the length of the diagonal of the square punch. That makes it really easy to insert into the punch and make the "V" shape.
* The Crushed Curry "brackets" are made using the Decorative Label punch, cut in half lengthways.
* the coloured balloons are made using the striped stamps in the Gorgeous Grunge set, punched out with the 1/2" and Itty Bitty Circle.

It's pretty simple (it had to be for 50 ladies to make it in an afternoon, along with another card, and still have time for browsing, nibbling and drinking!). But I think they all liked it!

I have to say, I think Stampin' Up! have outdone themselves this time. I'm loving all the samples in this Catalogue. I've already CaSEd quite a lot of them!

Just a few things to note about ordering from this Catalogue:

• Cardstock and Pad Kit (item 132281, page 139): The price for the Cardstock & Pad Kit is listed incorrectly as $47.95. The correct price is $93.95.
• World Map Stamp (item 130342 for wood, 130345 for clear, page 23): The stamp includes two offensive words, 'Negroland' and 'Cafreria', which have since been removed. The artwork we used for the image was taken from a historical map in the Library of Congress and the words were not noticed until recently. We hope it is understood that our intent has never been to belittle or offend our demonstrators and customers. We sincerely apologize for any insult or affront resulting from this oversight. We have updated the World Map Stamp, and anticipate that the stamp will be ready to order sometime in August.
• Label Pop 'n Cuts (item 130160, page 188): We have recently learned that the Label Pop 'n Cuts Die was incorrectly produced--the die cuts instead of scores across the score line. Our supplier repaired the defect and we are replacing our inventory. The new and improved die will be ready to order 12 July
• Wood-Mount Cases (item 127551 for full, 127552 for half, page 197): The new full and half wood-mount cases (sold in packs of four) have been delayed. You will still get your new wood-mount stamps sets in these cases, but we will be unable to fulfil orders for the additional wood-mount cases when the catalogue goes live. Stay tuned for when they will be available to order
• Stampin' Trimmer Rotary Addition (item 132986, page 176): We will announce when this item is available for order.
