The Last Day of Sale-a-Bration

It's the final day of Sale-a-bration today. That means it's your last chance to get your hands on some freebies. You get one free item for every $90 you spend. Above is the mobile I made using the Sale-a-Bration Carried Away Designer Series Paper, Up and Away thinlits dies and an embroidery hoop!
This mobile has been decorating my Craft Room since January.
The final item I have to show you is a pretty box, decorated with the Metallic Sale-a-bration ribbon and some pretty embellishments:

The White gift boxes are the perfect size to fill with a few treats. They come with a plastic sleeve, that slides off so the box can be opened easily, without ruining the pretty decoration.
It's always sad when Sale-a-Bration draws to an end, but I'm also ready for a rest!!
Next on the agenda? the Retiring List and the New Catalogue...but I think I'll have a nap first ;)

CCMC451 Vintage Avant Garden

It's Thursday, and that means Challenge time over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com.
This week is a sketch challenge, and this was the sketch we had to work with:
I've gone a wee bit vintage and shabby-chic with this one. Even though it's not my usual style, I do really love this look.
I'm a bit sad that this is the last card I have to show you using the Avant Garden Sale-a-Bration set. Sale-a-Bration ends TOMORROW.
Here are a few tips about this card:
  • I've stamped in Soft Suede ink (stamped off) on Crumb Cake cardstock.
  • I've 'vintage-d' it up using the Timeless Textures stamps on all the edges (in Crumb Cake ink), and also for the small patterned Sweet Sugarplum piece
  • There's also a touch of lace, courtesy of the Delicate Details Sale-a-Bration stamp set
  • Sweet Sugarplum is the perfect vintage-y colour, with it's dusky pinky-purple tones
I hope you like my card. Check out what the other talented stampers have come up with HERE. Don't forget you can play along over on the facebook page!

So Very Much Set of Cards

I love sending out thank you cards. Nothing says "I appreciate you" like a handmade card, and a hand-written message of gratitude. If you have lots of people to thank, grab some Designer Series Paper with soft, subtle patterns, the So Very Much Sale-a-Bration set and some pretty ribbon, and you'll be done in no time. Here's the set I made:

I've also added a touch of bling to these cards - some pretty metallic enamel shapes are the perfect finishing touch.

Hey Chick for Easter

As you can probably tell by the chocolate eggs in the shops, Easter is just around the corner. If you're looking for a quick and easy (and inexpensive) gift for friends and family, make sure you check out the cute mini egg cartons in the Occasions Catalogue. These come in a natural cream colour that can be left as is, or coloured to any colour of the rainbow.
For this project, the natural colour suited, so I just embellished with a belly band and a cute chook. Inside, I've filled with some shredded paper and candy coated eggs:

These cartons make cute gift packaging for Easter, or any time of year!

Designer Tee Gift Cards

I have a confession to make. The Designer Tee stamp set started off as my least favourite of all the Sale-a-Bration items. But, as I've used it more and more, it has really grown on me. You definitely don't need t-shirts to stamp these fun sentiments on.
I've stamped mine on some Stitched Shapes and used a little of the Metallic Sale-a-Bration ribbon to glam them up. The Carried Away Designer Series Paper (also a Sale-a-Bration item) is the perfect background for these cute little gift cards.
I always like to have some gift cards on hand to accompany a present. These ones are 3"x3", so all of these cards came from one 12"x12" sheet of cardstock.

Avant Garden from the Cover

If this card looks a little familiar, have a look at the cover of your Sale-a-Bration brochure. Sometimes the best ideas are sitting there, just waiting to be copied!
I didn't even change the colours for my version - I used Watermelon Wonder, Peekaboo Peach, So Saffron and Wild Wasabi. I did change a couple of other small details - the washi tape, the sentiment colours, and I swapped out the ribbon stitching for some copper thread.
That's the nice thing about copying a card - you can keep the bits you like, and change others to suit your own taste!

Hey Chick Tower

It's the final week of Sale-a-Bration, and I will be sharing a project every day until the end of the month. So, make sure you check in often :)
How fun is this card?! I've seen a few chick towers around, and I just had to try it for myself.
I had lots of fun colouring these gals. My colour palette is Delightful Dijon and Crumb Cake, with a dash of Cherry Cobbler. The Crumb Cake Designer Series Paper is from the Tasty Treats Selection. Most of the other designs are pretty and cute, but this one suited my colour scheme well, and even looks a little like chicken wire.
I'll be back again tomorrow with another Sale-a-Bration project!

CCMC450 Reverse Words

It's Thursday Challenge time again for www.createwithconnieandmary.com , and this week is a fun Colour Challenge. This is what I came up with using these colours:

I was tempted to use flowers with these pretty, spring colours, but decided to pull out my new Reverse Words Sale-a-Bration stamp set instead. This is my first play with this set, and I think I went a little crazy!!
Here are some tips:
  • I inked up the 'hooray' stamp in the 3 ink colours, then gave it a light spritz with water and stamped on Whisper White cardstock. Then I just kept on stamping!
  • I've blinged it up with a few Confetti stars, punched from Sale-a-Bration Glimmer Paper. Since it doesn't come in So Saffron, to make the yellow stars, I tinted some Dazzling Diamonds glitter with ink refill, allowed it to dry for a few hours (do NOT use a heat tool to speed up drying time = glitter STORM!) and then adhered it with fine tip glue.
  • The "I knew you could" stamp is from the Sale-a-Bration Designer Tee stamp set and has been punched out using the Classic Label punch
  • I've used one of my old faves, Gorgeous Grunge in the background.
  • The snippet of ribbon is from the Succulent Garden ribbon combo pack in the Occasions Catalogue. I've attached it with a couple of staples. Simple!
I'll definitely be using the Reverse Words stamp set again, before Sale-a-Bration ends on March 31! Check out what the other talented stampers have come up with HERE. Don't forget you can play along over on the facebook page!
