Happiest of Days

This was the card we made at a recent team meeting. It's just bursting with fabulous new products! The Happiest of Days stamp set has some really pretty, whimsical images and stunning fonts.

I'm loving the new background stamps in the Catalogue - I think every single one is on my wishlist! On this card, I've used the Marbled background, and I just love the effect. My colour palette is Pool Party, Sweet Sugarplum, Basic Black and Lemon Lime Twist.

I've also used 2 new punches, a new In Color and some new Designer Series Paper. See, I told you this card was bursting with new products! We even used the new Mini Stampin' Dimensioals to pop up the flowers. I'm not sure how happy everyone was that they had to fussy-cut 2 of these!!

CCMC468 Feathery Friends

It's Thursday, and that means it's Challenge time again over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com.
This week is a sketch challenge, and this is the sketch we had to work with:

This very cute Feathery Friends stamp set is a delight to colour. I chose the 2 sweet birdie images to colour for this card, but there are some pretty stems and flowers that I'm planning on using sometime soon.
  • I used ink refills and Blender pens to colour my images.
  • My colour combo is Fresh Fig, Soft Sky, Sahara Sand and Basic Black
  • I used the stem images to stamp a background pattern on my squares. I used the same colour ink as the cardstock for a tone-on-tone effect
I hope you like my card. Check out what the other talented stampers have come up with HERE. Don't forget you can play along over on the facebook page!

Pick a Pattern Card Set

Don't you love it when a card design comes together really quickly? It's even better when only minimal supplies are required to make it (in this case, Pick a Pattern DSP and the Lovely Inside and Out Bundle). I had such fun making these that I kept going, and made a set of 6!

This Patterned Paper is lots of fun. The funky, hand-drawn designs are really cool, and the colour palette is a bit different too. I think the Lovely Words thinlits work really well with it.

TIP: I cut my paper to 4" x 6" and then trimmed 1/4" off the 6" length. I used the trimmed-off strips to decorate my cards.

A Little Wild Thailand Swap

One of the fun parts of Stampin' Up! Incentive Trips is swapping with other Demonstrators from around the world. I made 25 of these cards to take to Thailand, and I came home with 25 different cards, each one uniquely and beautifully made. It's a lovely memento of the trip and a great way to get inspiration.
This is the inside of my card (I had to include his cute little bottom!):

I've used one of my favourite sets in the new Catalogue - the very cute "A Little Wild" stamp set. I've used Soft Sky as my base colour, with lots of white, a splash of Crumb Cake and Pear Pizzazz, Calypso Coral and So Saffron.
I'm hoping there are 25 people out there who were happy to receive my card!

CCMC467 Bouquet Bunch

It's Thursday, and that means it's Challenge time again over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com.
This week is a colour challenge, and these are the colours we had to work with:
I struggled a bit with this one, and I'm still not sure I'm entirely happy with the end result. I really like the colour combo, but I don't think I did it justice.
  • There's not a lot of stamping on this card (maybe that's why I don't like it!). The dies are from the Bouquet Bunch framelits.
  • I used the Fine Tip glue and some Dazzling Diamonds glitter to make the centres of my flowers sparkly.
  • The sentiment is from the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set
  • I've used the Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper in Berry Burst
  • Did you know that you can make scalloped rectangles using the Layering Squares framelits? I used the partial die-cutting method to do this
I hope you like my card. Check out what the other talented stampers have come up with HERE. Don't forget you can play along over on the facebook page!

Just a Note with Crafting Forever

In my humble opinion, the Crafting Forever stamp set is a must-have for all crafters. This is one set I'll be keeping, even after it retires. The images and sentiments are just so perfect. They pretty much sum up everything I love about crafting.

But, as you can see, you can use it to make cards for non-crafters too. I've used the pens image to make this clean and simple card. I actually made a bunch of these in lots of different colours, but the Lemon Lime Twist one was my favourite. I stamped the pens in black and used a marker to colour parts of the images.

The sentiment is a stamp from the Soft Sayings Card Kit. This stamp set is only available as part of the kit. Check it out in the Product links below. The kit is fabulous value!

Good Friends are Hard to Find

I just love large stamps - they make it so easy to whip up a quick card. This one from the Lovely Friends stamp set certainly fits the bill!
My colour combination is Tranquil Tide and Berry Burst. I've stamped off the leaves and lighter part of the flowers.
I've also added a Glitter Enamel Dot to the flower centres. Look at how pretty these are:

I've been sticking them on everything!
The crackle-effect paper in the background is from the Color Theory Paper Stack.
