Share What You Love Suite

This card was my first play with this beautiful new suite of products, and I used it to make this card for a beautiful friend of mine.
The Share What you Love Suite of products features in our upcoming Annual Catalogue, released on June 1, but you all have a chance to pre-order these products during May. There will be special product bundles released on May 1, so stay tuned for those!
In the meantime, check out the video:

CCMC507 Southern Serenade

It's Thursday, and that means it's Challenge time again over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com.
This week is a colour challenge, and these are the colours we had to work with:

These colours are right up my alley, so this card came together in a flash. I must admit that I did feel a bit sad using Island Indigo. It's a favourite of mine, but it's one of the colours that is Retiring in the upcoming Colour Revamp. After June 1, this colour won't be part of the colour range anymore. At the moment it's available while stocks last, so now is your chance to stock up on cardstock and ink refills. The ombre ribbon on this card is also retiring.

The stamp set I've used is Southern Serenade. This set is in our current Occasions Catalogue and happily, it also appears in our new Annual Catalogue. It has such pretty flowers and also a lovely lace background stamp and lace trim stamp too. The sentiments are also really pretty. I have 'swiped' the base card with a Versamark inkpad to add texture and deepen the tone.

I wouldn't normally put 3 pieces of ribbon on one card, but I just couldn't decide...so all 3 it is!

I hope you like my card. Check out what the other talented stampers have come up with HERE. Don't forget you can play along over on the facebook page!

Painted with Love Suite

I put together this little display for my Launch Party in February, and I liked it so much, that it's still there! Everything here has been 'Painted with Love'. These Specialty Papers are just divine with their sunset tones and splashes of gold. They are also heavier weight, so they are perfect for making little boxes and tags but work equally well on cards.

I also used the Celebrate You thinlits, which were a Sale-a-Bration offering. They are unavailable to purchase at the moment, but WILL be returning in our new Catalogue on June 1!

Sadly not the case for the Painted with Love Designer Series Paper, so grab that while you can before it retires for good.

CCMC506 Animal Outing Sneak Peek

It's Thursday, and that means it's Challenge time again over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com.
This week is a sketch challenge, and this is the sketch we had to work with:

I have a sneak peek for you today! I was lucky enough to get my hands on some brand new products from our upcoming Annual Catalogue and I've used a few of them here.
  • Sneak Peek Alert! These fun animals are from a new stamp set called Animal Outing. I just love the little koala peeking out of the kangaroo's pouch! I've stamped in Memento ink and coloured with Blends
  • The Designer Series Paper is also a Sneak Peek - called Tranquil Textures. I think this pattern makes a great denim pattern. The colour is also a sneak peek - it's called Balmy Blue.
  • The pocket is from a carrying-over stamp set, called Pocketful of Sunshine
  • The Night of Navy 3/8" (1 Cm) Corduroy Ribbon is sadly not carrying over, so get this while you can!
I hope you like my card. Check out what the other talented stampers have come up with HERE. Don't forget you can play along over on the facebook page!

Brusho Babywipe Technique

Nearly 600 Stampin' Up! demonstrators gathered in Sydney last weekend for our OnStage event. Similar events occurred globally around the world involving thousands of Demonstrators, and we all received a copy of the new Annual Catalogue, so it's an exciting thing to be part of!

Many of us also swap cards at these events. The idea is that you make up a batch of cards, and swap them with other Demonstrators, so you come home with lots of inspiration and ideas. This is the card I swapped. I mass-produced 30 of these, so I came up with a technique to make it quick and easy:

Brusho Babywipe Technique – Fold 2 or 3 Baby Wipes into a folded pillow similar in size to your piece of cardstock. Dampen thoroughly with water. Sprinkle with Brusho powders (here I used red, yellow and orange). Lightly press glossy side of cardstock (already stamped and embossed) onto the babywipes. Allow to dry.

If you're new to Brusho or have struggled to get the effect you're after - or if you need to make 30 cards in one go! - perhaps give this technique a try.

Farewell Sweet Sugarplum

I was very glad to see that the Petal Palette stamp set appears in our new Annual Catalogue. Sadly not so for the Petal Passion Designer Series Paper. I've loved the versatility of the black and white designs. I'm also going to miss Sweet Sugarplum. Thankfully we have a couple of new purples that I can console myself with. If you love this colour too, make sure to stock up on some cardstock and an ink refill or two.

I just did a spot of quick colouring on my stamped image, using the sponge daubers. It really is the quickest way to add some colour to your images. Just be sure to have a very light touch and build up the colour gradually, in a circular motion.

This layout with a banner and a circle would work for a variety of stamp sets. I cut my banner piece to 12cm x 4.9cm and then used the Triple Banner Punch to create the flagged end.

CCMC505 Perennial Birthday

It's Thursday, and that means it's Challenge time again over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com.
This week is a colour challenge, and these are the colours we had to work with:

I've used the extremely versatile Perennial Birthday stamp set for my card this week. It is primarily a greeting set, but the pretty flowers that are part of the set should not be overlooked! I've coloured them using Stampin' Write Markers, and then cut them out to make a little bouquet.

The background design is a sheet of paper from the Tutti Frutti Paper Stack. I've also used the Old Olive Mini Chevron Ribbon on this card, and some Glitter Epoxy Shapes.

I hope you like my card. Check out what the other talented stampers have come up with HERE. Don't forget you can play along over on the facebook page!

Waterfront Stamp-a-Stack

This is the other set of cards we are making in Stamp-a-Stack Class this week. I have CaSEd this design from the very talented Amanda Bates. I just loved the soft colours and "out of the frame" effect on her card.
The colours are Wisteria Wonder, Soft Sky, Basic Grey and Tranquil Tide.

In the class you will learn lots of tips for creating your own scenes using the Waterfront stamp set.
