Signs of Santa

I simply could not resist the Signs of Santa stamp set...and then of course the matching framelits and Designer Series Paper! These cuties are so much fun to play with. Some areas of the Santa's Workshop Designer Series paper are flocked, so they are velvety to the touch. That little scalloped edge has also been snipped from the paper too.
I coloured Santa and his signpost with my Blends...my go-to colouring tools!

Hope you're having a great week!

First Frost with Manda

This card was a bit of a collaborative effort between myself and my dear friend, and very talented stamper Manda....she did most of the hard work and I made a few helpful (and a few not-so-helpful!) suggestions!

We CaSEd a card from our Quarterly Demonstrator Magazine, but changed it up quite a bit. I love the end result - it's so feminine and pretty. The colour scheme is Crumb Cake, Soft Sea Foam, Mossy Meadow, Petal Pink and So Saffron.

What do you think? Do we make a good team?

CCMC533 Boo!

It's Thursday, and that means it's Challenge time again over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com.
This week is a colour challenge, and these are the colours we had to work with:

These colours just screamed Halloween to me..."screamed"...see what I did there? So, bad jokes aside, I went with it and pulled out my Toil and Trouble Designer Series Paper. I went to town, snipping 3 hats, plus a spider, a frog and a cat.

I made my creatures all peek-a-boo from behind the hats. and stamped a very appropriate "boo" sentiment (from the Warm Hearted Hostess set). I couldn't decide what colour to stamp it in, so I used my markers to do all 3 colours. The background stamps are from the same stamp set.

I added a strip of Pumpkin Pie cardstock, and ran it through the Big Shot with the Corrugated Embossing Folder.

This was a fun card to make. I hope you like it! Check out what the other talented stampers have come up with HERE. Don't forget you can play along over on the facebook page!

First Frost and Shimmer

This was the make-and-take at our recent team get-together. I’ve used the new First Frost bundle. It’s a versatile set that can be used for Christmas, but also lends itself well to other occasions. I’ve also used other new products - the Tin Tile Embossing Folder and Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint, and incorporated some products from the Annual Catalogue too – the leaf punch and vellum. I made my Gray Granite strip shimmery by sponging it with Champagne Shimmer Mist.

I kept this card soft and pretty with a colour scheme of  Whisper White, Gray Granite, Soft Sea Foam, Petal Pink and  Mango Melody. I think the vellum leaves add softness too.

Little Elephant

Baby cards are one of my favourite types of cards to make. Welcoming a new life is such a special occasion, and it's a license to go all-out cute.

Here I've used the Little Elephant bundle. How cute are these two elephants; and there's even a punch, so no fussy cutting. I used the Buffalo check in the background (in Versamark ink) to echo the checks on the elephants.

I couldn't find any ribbon that I was happy with, so I just went with some strips of cardstock instead.

This colour combination is Balmy Blue, Smoky Slate, Pear Pizzazz and Lovely Lipstick. It's a bit of a departure from the traditional baby colours, but I think it still works?

CCMC532 Bouquet Blooms

It's Thursday, and that means it's Challenge time again over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com.
This week is a sketch challenge, and this is the sketch we had to work with:

This was my first play with the Bouquet Blooms stamp set, borrowed from a friend. It's a sweet little set; I especially like the circle stamped element. My colour scheme is Blushing Bride, Berry Burst and Mossy Meadow. I've also used the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper. The striped paper is from the Festive Farmhouse DSP pack. I've used a few Metallic Pearls as an embellishment.

I hope you like my card. Check out what the other talented stampers have come up with HERE. Don't forget you can play along over on the facebook page!

Still Night Owl

Isn't this owl just gorgeous? You can find him in the Holiday Catalogue, in a stamp set called Still Night. I've stamped him in Soft Suede and just lightly coloured his wing using a Blender Pen to 'pull' the colour around. I also stamped the branch in Soft Suede, on Soft Suede cardstock. I then cut it out with my Paper Snips. The background is Night of Navy, and I've stamped the stars by sponging Frost White Shimmer Paint directly on to the stamp, and then stamping randomly. The moon is just a white circle, that I've also sponged in Frost White Shimmer Paint.
The sentiment is from the same set. I just stamped it on a small rectangle and snipped the corners with a 1/2" Circle Punch.
I hope you like my card!

A Simple Thank You

This thank you card came about as a request for a card that wasn't "too embarrassing" to give to Jacob's high school teachers. So, I kept it clean and simple, with no bells and whistles! I can hardly believe he has finished with high school. His final exams start on Thursday, and in a few weeks we will be completely done with school forever!
I used 3 panels of the Country Lane Designer Series Paper on this card. The background was looking a little plain, so I gave it the Subtle Embossing Folder treatment. I inked up the sentiment (from the Springtime Stroll Hostess stamp set) using my markers, and added a small piece of ribbon...tied in a knot, instead of a bow to keep it less embarrassing!
Have a great week!
