CCMC538 Be Jolly!

It's Thursday, and that means it's Challenge time again over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com.
This week is a sketch challenge, and this is the sketch we had to work with:

I'm a bit in love with the colour combination for Christmas - Real Red, Pool Party and Whisper White. I think these are the perfect colours for the Candy Cane Season Bundle. All the stamps I've used on this card are from Candy Cane Season. Other products I've used are the Subtle Embossing Folder, Stitched Shapes framelits, sponge daubers,  Subtles 6"x6" Designer Series Paper and a few Rhinestones.

TIP: if you can't find the perfect DSP for your card, make your own! I think my favourite part of this card is the red HO! HO! HO! strip. Although it looks like it, it is not DSP - I actually stamped in Versamark and embossed in white powder to get this look. And voila, it matches my project perfectly!

I hope you like my card. Check out what the other talented stampers have come up with HERE. Don't forget you can play along over on the facebook page!

First Frost Stamp-a-Stack

My classes have wound up for the year (a little earlier than usual due to a crazy-busy November!). This is one of the sets of cards we made at my last Stamp-a-Stack. We used my favourite stamp set at the moment - First Frost. It's in the Holiday Catalogue. I think it's worth getting this one as a bundle, as the framelits are stunning too. While you're at it, grab some of the co-ordinating Frosted Floral DSP. The shimmer on this paper is absolutely gorgeous. I added some extra shimmer to these card by spritzing with alcohol mixed with Champagne Shimmer Paint.

I've also used both of the Punch Box sets to punch my sentiments, and I've also used some extra sentiments from Treat Time - this stamp set is not designed to go with the punches, but they fit really well. I added a circle of vellum behind my sentiments for a little softness.

These cards would work well for pretty much any occasion.
Thanks for stopping by!

Birthday Hugs

I made this card for a couple of special birthdays, using the Healing Hugs stamp set. One of my favourite colour schemes is neutrals with a pop of colour - in this case, Gray Granite and Whisper White - and Petal Pink and Old Olive for my 'pop'. I also sponged a little Grapefruit Grove ink onto the edges of the flower before stamping to give it a little more depth. I also cut it out and popped it up on dimensionals.

I love the adhesive sequins for a quick and easy way to add a little sparkle...no messing about with glue to make them stick.

Hopefully this card brightened their day!

CCMC537 Tranquil Tidings

It's Thursday, and that means it's Challenge time again over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com. This week is a colour challenge, and these are the colours we had to work with:

I think I like Tranquil Tide more and more every time I use it. It's a lovely soft green, with a hint of blue, perfect for pine trees, or a whole forest of pine trees!

I've used the Rooted in Nature stamp set, along with Timeless Tidings for the sentiment. I've incorporated Copper Foil in a few different ways - cardstock, embossing powder and Shimmer Paint. Can you see the shimmery dots on the trees? I used an old Blender Pen to make them.

I also used the Joyous Noel Designer Series Paper on this card, which has splashes of copper. The other products I've used on here are staples of mine - Stitched Shapes framelits and the Subtle embossing folder (no surprises there!)

I hope you like my card! Check out what the other talented stampers have come up with HERE. Don't forget you can play along over on the facebook page

Just a Note

If you need a quick card, suitable for any occasion, then I highly recommend the Wishing You Well stamp set, available in the Holiday Catalogue. It's an extremely versatile set and can even be used for Christmas cards. It's a DistINKstive stamp set, which means lots of impact and depth with just one stamping.

I've also used the Tin Tile embossing folder in the background, for some added texture. There's also a subtle shimmer, thanks to a spritz of Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint (mix a few drops with isocol in a spritzer bottle).

My colour scheme here is Fresh Fig, Blackberry Bliss, Mint Macaron and Very Vanilla.
Thanks for visiting. I hope you're having a great week!

Twinkle, Twinkle

I've been having lots of fun lately with the Little Twinkle Bundle. I used it for a recent Stamp-a-Stack Class, and also for my swap card at the Stampin' Up! event on the weekend. It's such a sweet suite of products, and I love the colour scheme (Gray Granite, Night of Navy, Petal Pink, Pool Party, Soft Sea Foam, Whisper White). Here are my class cards:

To create the sparkly moon, I stamped it first, and then punched it out. I then applied a layer of snail adhesive (glue will make the ink run) and sprinkled with glitter. I then popped it up with a mini dimensional or two, lining it up over the previously stamped image.

TIP: to make it easier to apply the snail, use the Silicon Craft sheet

Hopefully everyone who received one of my swaps was happy with the card!

CCMC536 Time for Tea

It's Thursday, and that means it's Challenge time again over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com.
This week is a sketch challenge, and this is the sketch we had to work with:

I decided to take a break from Christmas this week, and make something pretty. So, I pulled out some products from the Tea Room Suite and had a play. It felt good to make something 'just because'.

I used the Tea Room Specialty Designer Series Paper in the background and took my colour scheme from there (Coastal Cabana and Crushed Curry). I also used the Time for Tea bundle, but used a sentiment from Varied Vases. I used a Blender Pen to add just a touch of colour to the images.

For embellishment, I kept it simple with just a Pearlised Doily and some Double-stitched Ribbon.

I hope you like my card. Check out what the other talented stampers have come up with HERE. Don't forget you can play along over on the facebook page!

It's Blog Hop Time!

Welcome to the Stampers Anonymous Team Blog Hop! We are hoping to make this a regular occurrence. You can make the complete circuit and see all the lovely creations by following the links at the end of each post.

The lovely Nikki Stalker is our Blog Hop co-ordinator, and this month she has given us a sketch to work with. The inspiration for the sketch is from page 97 of the Annual Catalogue. Here is my take on the sketch:

I decided to leave a lot of white space on this card, so that my little Santa in his sleigh would really stand out. I've snipped him from the Santa's Workshop Designer Series Paper. There are so many cute images on this paper, it was hard to choose which one to use! I popped it up on dimensionals and also
added some enamel shapes for a bit of visual interest. The sentiment is from Hung with Care - a cute little Hostess Set in the Holiday Catalogue. I've stamped it in Soft Suede and punched it out with the Classic Label Punch.

Well, that’s all from me. Thanks for stopping by! Click on the button below to move to the next stop:
