Happy Stars

Never was a truer word spoken - "you can never have too much happy". It's one of my favourite stamps (from the set "Yippee-Skippee"), and I use it all the time.
I thought it was a very appropriate message to pop on these little notecards that I sent out to my lovely customers with their copy of the Holiday Catalogue. On these cards (9.9 x 9.9cm size, so that I could get 3 from a sheet of A4 Bermuda Bay cardstock), I've crammed lots of products from the new Holiday Catalogue. A Fringed Garden

Here's a quick card I made using the Fringe Scissors to make grass. To make the grass, I like to cut my cardstock in half (Wild Wasabi used here) in a rough zigzag pattern. Then I fringe both halves and overlay them. It gives a pleasing grassy effect that just begs you to run your fingers through it (or your toes, if you're that way inclined!)
I've also used the "Hello There" Hostess stamp set (you can get this one FREE with an order of $300) for my little stems and sentiment. The flowers themselves are from the "Something to Say" set.
The other colours I've used are Soft Sky, So Saffron, Calypso Coral and Crisp Cantaloupe.

Ridiculously Amazing Stamp-a-Stack

I'm not really as arrogant as that blog title post sounds! I'm just referring to the sentiment on these cards. Amazing Birthday is an awesome new set...and let me share a little secret with you (this is where you get rewarded for actually reading my blog post and not just looking at the pictures!)...the price of the Clear Mount set in the catalogue is incorrect. It should be $35.95 but instead it is only $25.95. And Stampin' Up! is honouring that price! Woo Hoo - you just got a $10 discount!
I like to step out of my colour comfort zone every so often. Can you guess which of these 3 colours is not one I would normally use? Yep, Tangelo Twist. My first port of call when using a 'difficult' colour is the Color Coach. It told me that Island Indigo and Sahara Sand worked well with this colour. And what do you know...it was right! What a great 'boy' colour combo with that pop of bright orange.
I've used the new Party Pennants Bigz Die on these cards, and the Decorative Masks for the background.
The polka dots on the orange pieces are done with a very special tool that's NOT in the Stampin' Up! Catalogue...can you guess what it is?
