I challenged myself to make some ocean-themed cards, using the By the Bay Designer Series Paper. I don't have the stamp set (yet!) but the paper is so pretty and has quite a few stand-alone patterns. This is the first card I made.
I've used some other items from the By the Bay Suite too - the gorgeous Balmy Blue and White Variegated ribbon and also the Flat adhesive-backed pearls. I also made use of the Basics 3D Embossing folders (part of the Online Exclusives). The sentiment is from the Something Fancy stamp set (love this set and use it a LOT!)
Hopefully you're not totally sick of seeing Hello, Irresistible cards, because I have a ton more to share with you today. I think I got a little carried away...once I started I just couldn't stop!
I used a mixture of different dies to make these cards, which you can see listed below. All of these cards are so simple. once I had cut out the leaves and flowers, they were so quick to put together, and I still have plenty of paper left!
How stunning is this Marigold Moments image? I'm not sure if marigolds actually come in Orchid Oasis and Starry Sky, but isn't that the beauty of stamping? We can choose any colours we like! For the leaves I used Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen. Because the stamps are all 2-step, you get gorgeous detail and dimension in these images.
I added some texture to the background with one of the Basics 3D Embossing Folders. These are part of the Online Exclusives Promotion. I also used the scalloped edge die from the Marigold Moments dies, both at the top for decoration and at the bottom, to cut a border. The finishing touch is some co-ordinating DSP, a piece of Woven Metallic ribbon in Orchid Oasis, and a few Iridescent Pearls.
I often use the Memories & More cards and envelopes when I need to make a batch of cards. I love having a card base that is already done, and I can just add my card elements straight onto it. For these cards I used the Enjoy the Adventure pack, combined with the Best Day stamp set.
My favourite stamp in the set is this little cupcake cat. He is just so cute with his party hat, bow-tie and balloon. I've coloured my cats in with Blends, and chose colours to co-ordinate with the Memories & more card bases.
And here are the 2 different colours together:
I know I'm usually a blue/green kinda girl, but I actually really like my orange kitty. Which one is your favourite?
