Goodness me, where has June gone? It's hard to believe that there are only a few days left to order from the Retirement List and our Seasonal Catalogue. I say this every year, but there's always someone who ignores me....Don't miss out!

I've been SUPER busy lately. Last weekend was my New Catalogue Launch Party. In the lead-up to that, I was churning out card samples like a machine! Not to mention putting together 50 goody bags, preparing 100 make-and-takes (2 per person), baking cupcakes and cookies, and getting together second-hand items for sale. The Craft Sale ended up being held in our bedroom, as the front deck was far too wet and cold. I'm very grateful to the 50 ladies for being very patient and tolerant about squishing in there!

After they grabbed some bargains, there was lots of yummy food to enjoy. As well as the cupcakes, cookies and champagne, I had food themed around the new In Colors – I had Coastal Cabana Crockery bowls (since I couldn't think of any Coastal Cabana coloured food!), with little signs on the side – Pistachio Pudding (pistachios), Crisp Cantaloupe (rockmelon cubes), Strawberry Slush (fresh strawberries) and Baked Brown Sugar (sugared almonds). It all got eaten up, so I think everyone agreed the new In Colors are very yummy!

Just Believe Reverse Masked

Just a quick one from me today. I'm busy running around getting everything ready for my Launch Party on Sunday!
This month in our team meeting, we explored the Reverse Masking Technique. It's such a simple technique, but really packs a punch. It gives a layered look without any actual layering, so it's a great technique for one-layer cards.
Here's a quick card I made using this technique and the Just Believe stamp set...I'm really going to miss this set when it retires!

To get this effect, all you meed to do is create a stencil (I've used a framelit), and sponge or stamp inside it. Remove your stencil, and voila!

Button Buddies Stamp-a-Stack

Here's my second Stamp-a-Stack design for this month, using another retiring set, Button Buddies.
It's such a cute set, with stamps to suit all occasions. It's designed to work with buttons and punches.
Lots of retiring colours used here - More Mustard, Riding Hood Red, Bashful Blue, Pretty in Pink, Lucky Limeade and Certainly Celery:

I've also used 2 retiring Background Stamps, Netting and Distressed Dots, some Retiring ribbon (I'm going to miss the lovely ruffled ribbon!) and also a retiring sentiment set A Word for You. I've rounded all the corners on these cards...it's a good trick when you're not doing a lot of layering.

You are Loved Stamp-a-Stack

Retirement List month is always crazy busy, and this month has been no exception!
I've been running classes this month using Retiring sets. Each year there are always a few sets that I wish I'd used more often, and I like to give them one last run. This is one example - a pretty set called "You are Loved". And the best news is that the Clear Mount set is 40% off - only $26.97...but only while stocks last!

Here's the Stamp-a-Stack set I made using this set in Bravo Burgundy (retiring colour!) and Very Vanilla:

If you look closely you may also see a few retiring Embossing Folders on these cards.

TIP: I often find that I can be turned off a stamp set if there are a few images that I think I won't get much use of. In this case, there is a "Happy Valentines Day" stamp that I would rarely use. If you look at the card on the top left, you can see how I made use of the pretty swirls in the stamp, but covered over the message. I also covered over the "Love" sentiment in the Decorative Label frame using another retiring set, "Made for You". I use this set all the time - 3 useful sentiments in a really pretty font and they all fit inside the Oval punch.

Retirement List Update

Must-Haves
There are so many fantastic accessories and tools that are leaving us this year. I thought I'd post a list of some of the things I will really miss, in case you wanted to stock up on any of them too:

• Shimmer Paints - I use Shimmer Paint (usually Frost White 116854 or Champagne Mist 116806) Shimmer Paint on many of my cards. I make my own Shimmer Spray using Rubbing Alcohol. It adds just the right touch of sparkle.
• ALL the Punches - don't miss out!- every year after retirement, people beg for the retired punches!
• Craft & Rubber Scissors - even though we don't have to cut our stamps anymore, I still use these scissors for all sorts of projects around the house
• Color Spritzer Tool - great to add a subtle spritz of colour
• Tabletop Paper Trimmer - the perfect guillotine
• Sanding Blocks - I use these ALL the time to file off rough edges
• Big Shot Dies - Petal Cone Die, Scallop Envelope Die, Two Tags Die, Candy Wrapper Die
• Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder - one of my all-time faves
• First Edition DSP - great for backgrounds, and to stamp on.
• Fabric - I'm sad that we won't be carrying this anymore.

A few months ago Stampin' Up! asked  their facebook friends what they thought of the idea of being able to buy single clear-mount stamps instead of a whole set. The response was extremely positive, so that's exactly what they have given us.

• Single stamps can be ordered in the online store.
• These won't be sent in our typical cases or packaging; they'll be packaged in cello bags. If you'd like a case for your stamp, you can buy our Clear-Mount Stamp Cases that come in packs of four.

• The stamps won't come with a Clear-Mount Block, and you'll need to purchase a block separately if you don't already have one. The recommended block sizes can be found on the flyer.

Best Of 25 Years Stamps - Best of Flowers

As you all know, Stampin' Up! is celebrating a special Anniversary this year.

As part of the 25th Anniversary celebrations, they are bringing back some of our favourite stamp images from the last quarter century and releasing one set per month until April 2014. Even better, along with some great classic images, each "Best of" set will also include a never-before-seen image!

This month's set is Best Of Flowers:

It's great to see some old favourites back again :o) I love that hydrangea, and it will be fun to play with a smaller version of Upsy Daisy.

Here are the details about this Monthly Promotion
