So Long, Farewell!

Only one more month until our new Catalogue is released, and that means we have to make way for lots of lovely brand new products. So, it's time to say goodbye to some old favourites. Some items are heavily discounted and all are only available while stocks last.

The best way to make sure you don't miss out is to place your order in my Online Store. All orders over $50 will be automatically added to my mailing list to receive a FREE copy of the New Catalogue (mail outs begin mid-June). If you prefer to email me your order, that's perfectly fine too.

I think the easiest way to view what's retiring is in the Online Store (make sure you check out the Weekly Deals and Clearance Rack while you're there!)

You can also view the Retiring Accessories List HERE

And the Retiring Stamps List HERE

Some items are discounted by 40% ...but you'd better get in quick!

A Big Day!

I am computer-less at the moment, hence the lack of blog posts. My laptop had been throwing tantrums for a while now (you know, "it's all too much! I can't cope!" - CRASH - scenarios whenever I tried to open more than one window). I'm typing this on my iPad mini while it's in having data transferred to a new computer. I'm hoping to have it back soon though, since we're about to head into the busiest 2 months of the Stampin' Up! Year!

Tomorrow is a big day....not only does my baby Amy turn 17 (I know, can you believe it? I hear you all saying "She looks so young! How is it possible that she is the mother of a 17 year old?" ...I was a child bride lol), but it is also a big day in the world of Stampin' Up!

Tomorrow the Retirement List will be released. That means that the best day to buy your supplies of the outgoing In Colors is TODAY! (Midnight Muse, Gumball Green, Raspberry Ripple, Summer Starfruit and Primrose Petals). The ink refills and cardstock always sell out really fast, so email me or head into my Online Store if you need to stock up (check out the new Weekly Deals while you're there).... The link is over on the right ------>>>>>>>>

We also have an awesome Starter Kit Promotion on at the moment, running until the end of June. You can join Stampin' Up! for only $85. For that, you can choose $90 worth of products, free shipping, PLUS you will get 4 current catalogues and 8 new catalogues! It's the perfect time to join, with a new catalogue just around the corner (you'll get to see it first, AND get 30% off your new goodies!)
Just click on "Join Now" to place your Starter Kit order-------->>>>>>>>

Hopefully I'll be back soon, posting from my new computer!

June Class Dates

After nearly 4 weeks fun family adventures around the US, it is lovely to be home. The four of us had a week in New York, 2 days in Niagara Falls, a week in Orlando, a week cruising the Caribbean (courtesy of Stampin' Up!)and then a day in LA. It was amazing, and we have so many happy memories to treasure (and photos to scrapbook!)
Here we are, all excited and ready to board the ship:

Now, I'm excited to be going to Convention next week in Melbourne. After that, I will be back into running classes and getting ready for the Retirement List and brand new Annual Catalogue (released on July 1st). No rest for me!

I am working on getting my newsletter ready, but in the meantime I thought I would let you know about my upcoming classes for June, in case you are a Sydney-sider and would like to attend.

Stamp-a-Stack Class
Come along and stamp a stack of cards, so you'll always have a card ready when you need one. We'll be using some retiring products. Ribbon, embellishments and envelopes are included in your class fee.
You'll make 8 cards for $20 (if you BYO Stampin' Up! SNAIL adhesive/Tombow Glue), or 8 cards for $25 (if you use my SNAIL)
Tuesday 10th or Wednesday 11th 7pm for a 7:30 start
Wednesday 11th 9:30am for a 10am start

Technique Class
Come along and learn how to make the most of your Fringe Scissors. You will learn lots of tips and tricks for using your scissors, such as how to make flowers, tassels, garlands, fringing and more. Included in your class fee is a small Product Share - some to use on your cards, and some to take home! You will make 2 cards and matching envelopes, a gift box, plus technique notes - $20.
Please bring along Fringe scissors if possible. If you don't own any and would like a pair, please let me know at least a week prior to the class, and I can order some for you ($16.95).
Wednesday 18th or Thursday 19th 7pm for a 7:30 start
Thursday 19th 9:30am for a 10am start

Just email me to reserve your place. Places are limited to 8 people per class. All materials provided, unless stated otherwise. Suitable for beginners. If the above times and dates don't suit you, feel free to get a group of friends together, and arrange an alternative time!

Wetlands Sunset

Did you know that our Acrylic blocks aren't just for mounting stamps on to? You can also use them to make a background feature. I've gone for a sunset look here by colouring the block with markers, giving it a light spritz of water and then stamping on to Naturals White cardstock. I used Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze and Tangerine Tango for my sunset. I then stamped the reeds/wheat/grassy stuff(??) from Wetlands in the corner in Soft Suede ink.
The rest is pretty simple - Hardwood background (again!), a bit of twine, and a bit of sponging. Perfect Masculine Card!

What Does the Fox Say?

This was one of those cards that sat in my head for a while before I managed to get it out on to paper. I wanted to try stamping Mr Fox straight on to this grey spotty DSP (Watercolour Wonder) and colour him in. The DSP was surprisingly easy to watercolour on (I used Cajun Craze ink and an Aquapainter). A word bubble was perfect for the sentiment.
It seems that the answer to "What does the fox say?" in this case is a rather cheeky "You're HOW old?" ....Cheeky Mr Fox!

Salt 'n' Pepper Roses

When I bought the Spiral Flower Die I went a little mad making lots and lots of roses, of various sizes and colours. I made vintage roses, double roses, rosebuds, and these roses on stems (floral wire). Then I went looking for a suitable vase at my local $2 Shop, and stumbled across some Salt and Pepper shakers (for the princely sum of $2 a pair). Originally I was going to take the lid off, but when I got home I realised that the floral wire fit perfectly in the holes and helped hold the flowers in place.
All it needed was a little bit of jazzing up and voila! Salt 'n' Pepper roses!
TIP: The leaves are actually petals from the Blossom Punch.

Watercolor Wonder Notecards Set

I love products where all the hard work is done for you. That's definitely the case with these Watercolor Wonder notecards. I've stretched mine a bit further by chopping off the front and mounting them onto some Smoky Slate cards. I then used the back pieces to cut out my banners (although you could just as easily use them to make a second set of cards!)

All of my sentiments are from the Perfect Pennants stamp set. A few flowers, butterflies and sequins for embellishment and I was done!

pssst...

pssst....wanna know a secret?
The greeting on this card is on the inside:

I've combined the "pssst" stamp from the Happy Watercolour set with the Word Bubble framelits to make this card. And the big bold greeting inside the card is from Another Great Year. It's a simple card that makes a big impression.

Kaleidoscope Wish

I made this card in a frenzy of card-making for my Open House in February. This one was CaSEd from a card I found on Pinterest. Pinterest is an awesome tool for cardmaking inspiration. You can follow me on Pinterest HERE
The original card was by Cheryl Holtman. I only made a few minor changes to make it my own. These bold colours and geometric patterns would make a great teen birthday card!
