CCMC464 This Little Piggy

It's Thursday, and that means it's Challenge time again over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com.
We have something different for the month of June, to celebrate the release of our new Annual Catalogue! This is the final week, and we can  be inspired by one of the layouts in this picture:

I had SUCH fun making this card! I think my favourite thing is his little bottom poking out between those fence palings!
Here are some tips:
  • I stamped 'This Little Piggy' on Powder Pink cardstock. I had to do a bit of 'surgery' on the sitting pig to make him stand up (but don't worry, it didn't hurt him a bit!)
  • My fence palings have been made using the Classic Label Punch and the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper Stack
  • I used the brand new Ticket Tear Border Punch along the top edge
  • I've used the Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper in Powder Pink for the background.
  • The sentiment is from the Soft Sayings Card Kit. I've curved it to fit around the circle.
I hope you like my card. Check out what the other talented stampers have come up with HERE. Don't forget you can play along over on the facebook page!

Spinning Frame Class

We're doing something a bit different in this week's classes. We're playing with watercolour background techniques, the Colorful Seasons Bundle and making a fun spinning frame.

Depending on your mood, you can spin it to 'just breathe' or 'life is a beautiful thing'. I'm in a 'just breathe' phase at the moment, and counting down the sleeps until our Thailand Holiday!

Daisy Punch Gerberas

I think this is my favourite Daisy Punch project so far! I've used the punch to make gerberas. You have to look really closely to see that these aren't real. When people see them in my house, they can't help but touch them to make sure!

I've used deep, strong colours for these - Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Berry Burst, Tangerine Tango, Crushed Curry and Melon Mambo.
Here are some tips:
  • There are 3 daisy layers per Gerbera
  • I've used a Blender Pen and the corresponding ink colour to brush each petal, working from the centre outwards.
  • I've used 3 circle punches for the centres, and used my scissors to snip the edges of the 2 larger circles to create a fringed look, and then sponged the edges.
  • The centres are punched  from Chocolate Chip cardstock, stamped in Early Espresso ink.
  • I used a bone folder to curl the petals downwards.
  • I attached the flowers to some florist wire, and glued it between 2 of the daisy layers.

This would make a lovely project to give to someone in hospital...and they'll last way past the hospital stay!
The leaves and bucket are both from Kmart.

CCMC463 - Daisy Delight

It's Thursday, and that means it's Challenge time again over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com.
We have something different for the month of June, to celebrate the release of our new Annual Catalogue! Each week there will be a picture from the new catalogue, and we can be inspired by either the layout or the colours. This is our project for Week 4:

As you can see, I was inspired by the layout this week, and I've stayed pretty true to the inspiration picture. I've been a little obsessed with the Daisy Delight bundle lately, but it's been all about the punched daisy and I must admit that I've neglected the other stamps in the set. This was my chance to rectify that!
Here are a few details about my card:
  • The card is not actually made of wood - it's the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper stack. I'm going through a TON of this paper
  • There is also a small piece of the Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper
  • For embellishment, I've used the Old Olive Mini Chevron ribbon
  • The Glitter Enamel Dots add a touch of sparkle
  • The colours I've used are Old Olive, Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight and Wisteria Wonder

I hope you like my card. Check out what the other talented stampers have come up with HERE. Don't forget you can play along over on the facebook page!

Delightful Daisy Make-and-Take

This was the other make-and-take that my Launch Party attendees were able to make at my Open House. They had a choice between the blue and white daisy paper and the multi-coloured one. Can you guess which one was more popular?
I also made up some cards  using the other papers in the pack:

I think I like them all!
The sentiments are from the Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set.

Note: the Daisy punch has been so popular that it is on backorder at the moment, and can't be ordered. Hang tight though.... it will be available to order again soon! I'll keep you posted

In Color Pretty Label

At my new Catalogue Open House a couple of weeks ago, everyone had a chance to play with some brand new products. This is one of the make-and-takes that we made. It showcases the new In Colors (and Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper). We also used the new Pretty Label Punch and co-ordinating stamp set (buy them as a bundle and save 10%).
I thought copper would be the perfect accent to go with this card. The Happy Birthday sentiment has been embossed in copper (I pre-stamped these for everyone) and the new copper foil trim matches perfectly.
We used In Color markers to colour in the image.

CCMC462 You Make me Smile

It's Thursday, and that means it's Challenge time again over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com.
We have something different for the month of June, to celebrate the release of our new Annual Catalogue! Each week there will be a picture from the new catalogue, and we can be inspired by either the layout or the colours. This is our project for Week 3:
I've taken my inspiration from the sketch this week. I think this card is pretty self explanatory, but here are a few tips:
  • My colour combo is Berry Burst and Lemon Lime Twist. Aren't they just stunning together!
  • The 'crackle' background is from the Color Theory Designer Series Paper Stack
  • I love using the Stitched Shapes framelits when I don't want to add more layers. The stitched edge gives just enough definition without needing any matting
  • I've used the Softly Falling embossing folder on my Lemon Lime Twist banner piece
  • The stamps I've used are all from the Colorful Seasons set. The cherry blossoms in this set are my favourites!
I hope you like my card. Check out what the other talented stampers have come up with HERE. Don't forget you can play along over on the facebook page!
