Christmas Gift Boxes and Tags

As promised in my Mug Cake post, I have 12 simple Christmas gift ideas to share with you over the next couple of weeks, and they all involve a tag, made using the Tin of Tags stamp set -25% off this month! - and the Candy Cane Lane Christmas paper.
You can make 12 tags from an A4 sheet (cut cardstock to 10.5 x 4.9cm).
These 2 gifts both use the White Gift Boxes in the Holiday Catalogue. As you can see from the first pic, I discovered that 8 Ferrero Rocher chocolates fit inside perfectly! I've opened up the lid, chopped the side flaps off and rounded the corners to make a topper. The plastic sleeve that comes with the boxes still slides over the top, and now the contents are visible. Tip: Keep the little plastic tray that comes with the chocolates and cut it to size to hold to top layer in place.
These boxes are a great size. I have put some small soaps in my second box, but any number of things would fit inside. My belly band and ribbon are fitted over the plastic sleeve, so they just slide off easily without having to be pulled apart.

Merry Christmouse!

When you're flicking through a new Catalogue, do you ever turn a page and know that it would be fruitless to resist? You just know you are going to buy those stamps. Well, I must admit, I do that quite often (which is why I joined Stampin' Up!). Merry Mice had me in their clutches from the moment I saw them. When I made this card, we didn't have the Stitched Shapes framelits yet, but I have now discovered that I am doomed to never be content with plain shapes again. 3,2,1...Mug Cake!

I have 12 simple Christmas gift ideas to share with you over the next few weeks, and they all involve a tag, made using the Tin of Tags stamp set -25% off this month! - and the Candy Cane Lane Christmas paper.
I thought I would start off with my favourite gift idea - this Chocolate-Cake-in-a-Mug. I think it would make a great teacher gift, neighbour gift, or anyone-who-likes-chocolate gift!
The mug contains everything you need to make a Microwave Mug Cake:

The mug and copper measuring spoons are from Kmart. I got the adorable mini Nutella jar from a fruit shop ('cos Nutella is sooo healthy! ...but I have been told that Kmart stock them too!).
And here is the tried-and-true recipe (the dry ingredients listed at the bottom is what's in the cellophane bag)

The resulting cake is so moist, and more brownie than cake-like, as it doesn't contain any eggs (let's face it, one whole egg for one mug cake is a LOT of egg!). I experimented with quite a few ratios before settling on this one (my kids were my very willing guinea pigs!).
Feel free to use this gift idea...or just go make yourself a mug cake!
