CCMC623 Vintage Fancy Phrases

It's Thursday, and that means it's Challenge time again over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com.
During July we are CaSEing the Annual Catalogue. Each week there will be a picture from the new catalogue, and we can be inspired by either the stamp set, layout or the colours. This is our project for Week 5:

I was pretty happy with how this one turned out. This colour scheme is just so vintage and pretty- Grey Granite, Rococo Rose and Petal Pink.

I've also included lots of texture, with the Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder and also patterns from the In Good Taste DSP. I used my Versamark ink pad to enhance the texture on the embossing folder - I just 'wiped' the inkpad over the embossed cardstock. The flowers and sentiment are both from the Fancy Phrases stamp set. I used Blends to colour the image. I used my favourite Elegant Faceted Gems (again!) for the finishing touch.

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you like my card! Check out what the other talented stampers have come up with HERE. Don't forget you can play along over on the facebook page!

CCMC622 Peony Garden

It's Thursday, and that means it's Challenge time again over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com.
During July we are CaSEing the Annual Catalogue. Each week there will be a picture from the new catalogue, and we can be inspired by either the stamp set, layout or the colours. This is our project for Week 4:

I pretty much stuck exactly to the sample card layout this week but totally changed the colours and stamp set. I chose the Peony Garden Designer Series Paper as my starting point and the rest flowed on from there. The colours in this DSP are Basic Gray, Gray Granite, Petal Pink and Whisper White. I cut three strips, using patterns that I thought would work well together and decided that Gray Granite would work well for my base card. I did a little background stamping, using one of the stamps from Healing Hugs. This is the same set that the 'Get well soon' sentiment is from. I inked up the sentiment in Petal Pink and then used a Gray Granite marker to go over the top and bottom words.

The Triple Banner Punch made light work of the banner shape, and some Polka Dot tulle ribbon is delicate enough that it doesn't detract from everything else that's going on. The final finishing touch is my favourite embellishment - the Elegant Faceted gems.

More Blossoms in Bloom

I'm still loving the Blossoms in Bloom stamp set. I've gone with some strong colour tones here - Terracotta Tile, Pear Pizzazz and Early Espresso, along with Crumb Cake and Whisper White as neutrals.
Some simple layering, a narrow strip of Designer Series Paper and a Braided Linen Trim bow pulls this card together. You can see everything I used listed below.

Pampered Pets by Sam

I have a card to show you today that I can't take any credit for. It was made by my lovely friend Sam. She's a clever cookie and always comes up with great ideas. Here she's re-created the spaghetti scene from Lady and the Tramp...with 2 Tramps! She used the mirror stamping technique to have them facing eachother, and a piece of Linen Thread for the spaghetti.

You can see everything she used to make this card listed below. Thanks for visiting today!

CCMC621 Playing with Patterns

It's Thursday, and that means it's Challenge time again over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com.
During July we are CaSEing the Annual Catalogue. Each week there will be a picture from the new catalogue, and we can be inspired by either the stamp set, layout or the colours. This is our project for Week 3:

I had fun playing with some bright colours this week. I  used the Playing with Patterns 6"x 6" Designer Series Paper. I also used the Resin Dots from the Suite. There wasn't a Calypso Coral or a Night of Navy dot, so I created my own using Blends. The sentiment is from Best Year. This set has some lovely words and lovely fonts too.

July Blog Hop

Welcome to another Stampers Anonymous Team Blog Hop! This month we have a Sketch Challenge. You can make the complete circuit and see all the lovely creations by following the links at the end of each post.

Here is my take on the sketch:

I've had fun with shades of blue today - Misty Moonlight and Night of Navy. I've used products from the Boho Indigo Product Medley. I love everything in this Medley! How cute are those little flowers? Each one has a little bead in the centre. They are quick and easy to adhere with a glue dot. The vases and stems were all cut using the dies in the Medley. The only stamping on this card is the sentiment, which I've embossed white.

Well, that’s all from me. Thanks for stopping by! Click on the button below to move to the next stop:

Fancy Phrases from the Catalogue

I've been copying the catalogue again! This card is from page 52. As usual, I made a few changes to make it my own. The Fancy Phrases stamp set is so pretty, and really easy to colour...the shading is all done for you! I used my Blends to colour this one. I used the light Pool Party to shadow around the edges of the image.
You can see all the other things I used listed below. Thanks for visiting!
