Fresh Fig Blooms

I've been busy getting ready for my Open House on Sunday. That, and getting ready for another school year (our very last one!!) has meant very little blog time.

This is the second make-and-take that will be available for everyone to make on Sunday. It's always hard narrowing down my choices when deciding on a Sale-a-Bration stamp set to highlight, but I couldn't go past this Heartfelt Blooms set. It's such a 'wow' when you stamp it....the picture doesn't really do it justice, but the 3D effect of the image is amazing in real life. It's also a great set for a quick and simple card, and for those always-difficult-to-make Sympathy cards.

You might also spot some other new products on this card, from the Occasions Catalogue - a new embossing folder and a new punch! This card would work in any colour, but here I've used Fresh Fig...I love its understated elegance.

CCMC494 Bubble & Fizz

It's Thursday, and that means it's Challenge time again over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com.
This week is a sketch challenge, and this is the sketch we had to work with:

I decided to chop into my new pack of Sale-a-Bration Designer Series Paper this week. You would think that FREE paper would be easier to chop up than regular DSP, but it definitely isn't! (for me anyway!)
This paper is called Bubbles & Fizz, and you can earn it free with a $90 order (until March 31). It has some fabulous bright fun colours in it. I've used pieces with Bermuda Bay and Lemon Lime Twist.
There's barely any stamping on this card - just the sentiment. Everything else has been cut out from the DSP.
The sentiment is from A Good Day (in the Occasions Catalogue), and has been stamped in Basic Grey, and punched out with the Classic Label Punch.
I've added a few Epoxy Shapes 'bubbles' for some extra fizz!

You're Invited!

It's that time of year again. In just over a week I will be hosting an Occasions Catalogue and Sale-a-Bration Open House! Pictured above is one of the make-and-takes, using the Waterfront stamp set.

CCMC493 Flying Home

It's Thursday, and that means it's Challenge time again over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com.
This week is a colour challenge, and these are the colours we had to work with:

I must admit that I am guilty of not using Marina Mist very often, so it was fun to be challenged with it. It's really pretty with Old Olive and Calypso Coral.

• I CaSEd the layout for this card from page 41 of the Occasions Catalogue.
• The stamp set is Flying Home, also on page 41. I coloured the image using Blender Pens and ink, and used the Stitched Shapes framelits to cut it out
• The sentiment is from A Good Day on page 14. I popped a little piece of the shimmery Sale-a-Bration ribbon behind it.
• I used the Sweet Soiree Specialty paper in the background.
• It's hard to tell in the photo, but I've added a touch of sparkle using some of the Glitter Epoxy Dots on page 33.

CCMC492 Petal Passion

It's Thursday, and that means it's Challenge time again over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com.
This week is a sketch challenge, and this is the sketch we had to work with:

One of my favourite suites in the Occasions Catalogue is Petal Passion. I love the elegant watercoloured look.
On this card I've used the Petal Passion Designer Series Paper for the striped background, plus I also snipped out the large flower from one of the sheets. I then coloured it using my Blends in Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive.
I've used the Petal Palette stamp set for the sentiment, and the co-ordinating Petals and More thinlits dies for the beautiful intricate border element, and to cut out the sentiment. I used Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper for a bit of sparkle.
I used Fresh Fig for my background colour. I felt that the deep tone suited the other elements.

Tickled Pink Piggy

It's always fun when you discover that a sentiment designed for one stamp set (flamingos) works equally well for another (piggies!). I couldn't resist making a card combining the two.
TIP: I made my own faux-embossed cloud background by adhering white cloud diecut shapes to a white piece of cardstock and then running it through the BigShot.
I watercoloured my little piggy using ink and an aqua painter. The Fresh Florals paper adds a splash of soft Powder Pink to the bottom half of my card, and I've finished it off with some Soft Sky Classic Weave ribbon.
I think this piggy does indeed look 'tickled pink'!

Pretty Petal Palette

I made a couple of these cards for a couple of very special birthdays. I made it in a few different colours, just for fun. I CaSEd the design from page 22 of the Occasions Catalogue (my favourite page!). It's always great to have a new Catalogue to borrow ideas from :)
I coloured the image with my Blends, and did a light watercolour wash using ink and aqua painter behind the image.

How lovely and summery are these 3 colours? So bright and cheerful! Perfect colours for my first make of 2018.

• I've used some new products from a brand new suite - it's called Picture Perfect Party and it's lots of fun. The stamps are from a set called Picture Perfect Birthday, and the patterned paper is a 6"x6" stack called Picture Perfect Party.
• I've also used some of the Sale-a-Bration Shimmer Ribbon on this card. You can earn this 3-pack for FREE by ordering $90 worth of products.
