CCMC652 Corner Bouquet

It's Thursday, and that means it's Challenge time again over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com. Sadly, for me, this will be my last week as a Create with Connie and Mary Challenge Team Member. Life has just been too crazy for me lately and something had to give. I hope to be back in the future though!

This week is a colour challenge, and these are the colours we had to work with:

I wasn't sure about these colours when I first saw them, but once I started stamping with them, I really liked the effect. I chose the Corner Bouquet stamp set, and I used the baby wipe technique to make the image multi-coloured. To do this, just make your own temporary inkpad from a folded baby wipe. Apply drops of colour with a reinker, and then it is ready to use as an inkpad. You can concentrate the different colours where you want them. For example here I used more Just Jade in the lower left corner.

I used another Sale-a-Bration set for the sentiment - it's from Heal Your Heart. I've been using this one a lot. I just love the font. 

I must confess that I did cheat a little - my twine is Misty Moonlight rather than Seaside Spray. I did use my Whisper White ink to lighten it a little! The background paper is from the Hydrangea Hill pack.

Black & White Delight

I enjoyed making my last Black and White (with a pop of colour) card so much that I decided to make another. This time I chose Daffodil Delight as my 'pop'. I coloured these flowers from the Forever & Always stamp set using Blends (Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie, with Old Olive for the leaves). 

I CaSEd the design from page 10 of the Mini Catalogue, but made a few substitutes (the obvious one changing the pink to yellow!). I used a different sentiment - mine is from So Sentimental. I use this stamp a lot, for both the front and the inside of cards. And of course, it's the True Love Designer Series Paper again. I love this striped pattern! I finished the card off by embellishing with a few Matte Black Dots.

CCMC651 Berry Best

This week is a sketch challenge, and this is the sketch we had to work with:

There's less than 2 weeks of Sale-a-Bration left (can you believe it?). So, my mission is to use all my Sale-a-Bration items as much as possible before they are gone forever! On this card, I've managed to squeeze in 2 of them - The Berry Blessings stamp set and the Oh So Ombre Designer Series Paper. 

I used Blackberry Bliss and Granny Apple Green as my colour scheme, and I changed the Square format to standard A6.

Early Father's Day

I'm either super-early or super-late for Father's Day in September. Let's call it early and organised (and hope that I don't forget that I've already made a card when Father's Day rolls around!)

February Blog Hop

Welcome to another Stampers Anonymous Team Blog Hop! This month we have a Sketch Challenge. You can make the complete circuit and see all the lovely creations by following the links at the end of each post.

Here is my take on the sketch:

This was a super-quick card to make. Sometimes I dither about when making cards, but this one was all about quick decisions. I was thinking the other day that I hadn't used the Sale-a-Bration Flower & Field Designer Series Paper nearly enough, so that was Decision 1 out of the way! Since the sketch was done for me, that part was easy too. And from there it was just a matter of choosing a sentiment. I went with another Sale-a-Bration item - this sentiment from A Touch of Ink fits really well inside a die-cut circle. It's the only stamping on this card, and I've embossed it white so that it really pops. 

Some twine is the finishing touch....I'm so glad we have white twine again!

CCMC650 Notebook into Card

It's Thursday, and that means it's Challenge time again over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com. This week is a colour challenge, and these are the colours we had to work with:

If this card looks familiar to you, then your Sale-a-Bration brochure is probably as well-thumbed as mine! This card is actually CaSEd from the notebook on page 13. I've turned it into a card instead.

I didn't change much - I used the 3 colours in our challenge obviously, and I added a sentiment (from the Touch of Ink stamp set). The butterfly is also from this set. I think it looks beautiful coloured in these 3 colours (I used Blends). I also really like the vellum circle behind it, to add a touch of softness.

Thank You with Sprinkles on Top

I have another simple ice cream card to show you today. Again, there is not a lot of stamping involved - with this DSP and the punch, you can keep it quick and simple. I do love the sentiments and the font in this set. I've stamped them in Bermuda Bay and Mango Melody to co-odinate with the Designer Series Paper.

A piece of Snail Mail Twine is the perfect finishing touch, don't you think?
