Above the Clouds CaSEing

CaSE stands for Copy and Share Everything. If this card looks familiar, turn to page 8 of the Catalogue and you'll see why. I copied it almost exactly, apart from a couple of the supplies which I don't have (yet!!). And then while you're at it, turn to page 89, and you'll see a card very similar to this one:

The Above the Clouds Bundle is great for making quick and simple cards like this one, or slightly more elaborate ones like the first card. Stamp, punch and you're done! And it makes cards for all occasions, for recipients of any age or gender. You can't ask for much more than that!

Bound for Greece!

As this blog post is being published, I am winging my way to Rome! Dave and I will be cruising the Greek Isles from July 7-14, courtesy of Stampin' Up! and thanks to my wonderful customers and team members. This is not a trip I could earn without the help of so many of you and I am so grateful!

Before the cruise we are spending a week in Rome, soaking in some history and culture (plus acclimatising to the warm weather, getting over jet lag and sampling lots of Italian food and wine!).

I have scheduled regular blog posts while I am away, so please keep visiting for ideas and inspiration.

CCMC567 Floral Essence

It's Thursday, and that means it's Challenge time again over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com. This week is a colour challenge, and these are the colours we had to work with:

These colours just said spring flowers to me. It's the middle of winter here, so the stamped kind are about the only kind I'll get! These beauties are from the Floral Essence stamp set.

I used my Catalogue as inspiration, and copied the layout on page 106 for this card. There's lots of fussy cutting for the flowers and I punched the leaves using the Leaf Punch. I cut my rectangles with the Stitched Rectangle dies, and also used the Subtle embossing folder on the background Calypso Coral piece.

I embossed the sentiment (from Woven Heirlooms) with white embossing powder. I did cheat a little and added some Crushed Curry flower centres. The flowers just looked too empty without them!

I hope you like my card! Check out what the other talented stampers have come up with HERE. Don't forget you can play along over on the facebook page

Bird Ballad Laser-cut Cards

How divine are these laser-cut notecards and envelopes? You get 12 cards and 12 envelopes and a beautiful tin to keep them in:

I decorated my card very simply, with a Very Vanilla stitched circle, and some birds cut from the Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper. I also popped a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock behind the laser-cut cardfront. I wanted it to be soft and subtle but if you wanted more contrast you could use coloured cardstock or even Designer Series Paper.
I used some Linen Thread and a Bird Ballad trinket for the sweetest little embellishment ever.

Thanks for stopping by!

Magnolia Easel Card

Whenever I want to make a card that is a little out-of-the-box, but doesn't require a whole lot of scoring or measuring, or a whole lot of extra cardstock, I make an Easel card. It's just one extra fold (fold the top layer in half and then attach the cardfront to that). You can see how it stands up here:

I've added a small stamped Magnolia to the inside, popped up on Dimensionals, and that holds the 'easel' up. I've coloured the large magnolia with my Blends (Petal Pink and Old Olive). The Co-ordinating Designer Series Paper and matching ribbon takes care of the rest!

Thanks for visiting!

Daisy Lane Bundle

There are so many beautiful bundles in the new Annual Catalogue, and Daisy Lane would have to be one of my favourites. I just love a stamp set and punch combo! ...and it's even better when it works with a stamp set and punch combo that you own already!
I've had so much use from my large Daisy Punch so I know this medium size is going to get a workout too!
See it in action in the video:

I just love this card from the catalogue too:

I think I'll be making my own version of this one soon!

CCMC566 Butterfly Wishes

It's Thursday, and that means it's Challenge time again over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com.
This week is a sketch challenge, and this is the sketch we had to work with:

I've pulled out a brand new stamp set for this week's challenge. It's called Butterfly Wishes. It's a DistINKtive stamp set, with photorealistic butterflies and flowers in it, plus some really lovely sentiments. I inked up this beautiful blossom branch using markers. I stamped a couple of extra blossoms and cut them out for some extra dimension.

I've taken my colour scheme from the Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper. It's Petal Pink, Mossy Meadow and Early Espresso. I embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder so it really pops.

I hope you like my card. Check out what the other talented stampers have come up with HERE. Don't forget you can play along over on the facebook page!

Above the Clouds Make-and-Take

This is the other make-and-take from my Launch Party Open House. It's another simple one, but still hopefully with enough of a 'wow'!

For this one we used the new Above the Clouds Bundle and some new In Colors too - Seaside Spray and Terracotta Tile. I've paired them with Night of Navy and Grapefruit Grove.

I'm loving this new Night of Navy/Sahara Sand twine....it's the perfect finishing touch!

I hope you're having a lovely week!
