Accented Blooms and Blends

I do so love a stamp set that does all the hard work for me! Accented Blooms is one such set. My Blends make light work of colouring this pretty image.
You'll want to make sure you have the Tailored Tag punch with this set.
So as not to detract from my centrepiece, I have kept the background white on white, with just a bit of texture courtesy of the Basket Weave embossing folder.
Hope you're having a lovely day!

CCMC516 Pressed Flowers

It's Thursday, and that means it's Challenge time again over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com.
We have something different for the month of June, to celebrate the release of our new Annual Catalogue! Each week there will be a picture from the new catalogue, and we can be inspired by either the layout or the colours. This is our project for Week 4:

I must confess that I struggled a bit with this one. I'm not a fan of the colours in the inspiration pic, so I went with the layout, but in the end I didn't really feel like I pulled that off either. Oh well, you can't win them all, right?
Here are a few details about my card:
  • I've used the Pressed Flowers Hostess Set on page 227. The burlap looking background element is also from this set.
  • My colour combination is Sahara Sand, Soft Suede, Very Vanilla and Early Espresso.
  • The stunning die cut element is from the stunning new Delicate Lace Edgelits. These would have to be one of my favourite new dies
  • I love the punch combination I've used for the sentiment. The bottom layer is the Pretty Label Punch (stamped first with Label me Pretty); The middle layer is the Darling Label Punch; the top layer is the 1-1/4" circle punch (stamped first with the sentiment from Treat Time).         TIP: all the stamps from the Treat Time stamp set fit in the Darling Label Punch
  • I roughed up the edges of my Sahara Sand card layer, using the edge of my scissors. I've added a very fine layer of Soft Suede cardstock, before attaching it to my card base.
  • I've added a piece of Nature's Twine as a finishing touch
I hope you like my card. Check out what the other talented stampers have come up with HERE. Don't forget you can play along over on the facebook page!

A Friend Like You

I made this card for a special friend. I've given it lots of layers, lots of texture and lots of purple...all things she loves!
The Love What You Do stamp set and Share What You Love Designer Series Paper are just a stunning combination. I've done lots of sponging on this card, including sponging the reverse side of my Pearlised Doily with Rich Razzleberry ink.
You can see all the items I've used below, and click on the pictures for more information.
Thanks for popping by!

Sitting Pretty/Here

Here is another card I made with a borrowed stamp set - Sitting Pretty - and combined it with a stamp set that I do own - Sitting Here. I think the bench looks a bit more comfy with some plump cushions!
I coloured my cushions and the plant with Watercolour Pencils and a Blender Pen. I cut the bench die from Wood Textures Designer Series Paper.
Clean and simple, but kinda sweet.

CCMC515 Healing Hugs

It's Thursday, and that means it's Challenge time again over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com.
We have something different for the month of June, to celebrate the release of our new Annual Catalogue! Each week there will be a picture from the new catalogue, and we can be inspired by either the layout or the colours. This is our project for Week 3:

I was inspired by the layout this week, and I've used my 2 favourite new colours - Soft Sea Foam and Petal Pink. I love these delicate tones, and I think they work really well together. I've also used one of the new Distinctive stamps. You can read and see all about these photorealistic stamps on the inside back cover of the catalogue. There's also a video HERE.
Here are a few details about my card:
  • The Distinktive stamp set is called Healing Hugs. For extra dimension I've fussy cut the flower and leaves
  • There are 2 new embossing folders on this card - Tufted and Subtle. They are both Dynamic Impressions folders, so they make a really deep impression. You can see the Subtle linen textured effect on the small Soft Sea Foam piece...I love it!
  • The Designer Series Paper piece is from Petal Promenade
  • The sentiment is part of the Darling Label Punch Box
I hope you like my card. Check out what the other talented stampers have come up with HERE. Don't forget you can play along over on the facebook page!
