I've been getting lots of use out of the very pretty, and very versatile Avant Garden stamp set. It's one of the free Sale-a-Bration sets...only available until the end of this month!
I made this card for a special friend's birthday. She likes clean and simple, so I deliberately didn't go overboard with this one. Sometimes it's tempting to keep adding more, but I do really like the clean look when it's well executed. Hopefully I've pulled it off here.
If you struggle to paint water washes, or want to use Whisper White cardstock, rather than watercolour paper, sometimes a stamp can be an easy 'cheat'. I pull out this stamp from Perpetual Calendar a lot. The other background stamps in the set are very handy too! Here I've stamped in Mint Macaron, Sahara Sand and Pool Party.
I've roughed up the edges with my nail, added a bit of linen thread and popped the layer up on dimensionals, just to add some texture and visual interest. Clean and Simple!
