Challenge #4 - Spring Mini Springboard

We're up to Challenge #4 for August, and anyone can enter! August's challenge is called the "Spring Mini Springboard". You just need to use the Mini Catalogue as a Springboard for inspiration. You can take your inspiration from any of the projects featured in the Spring Mini Catalogue. It could be the colours, a layout, or both!
I've taken my inspiration from the picture frame on page 10, and the colours are from page 14:

Here's a close-up of the chipboard circle and layering:
It's really easy to come up with a design when most of the work is done for you :o)

I can't wait to see what you come up with! The winner will receive a lucky dip of assorted Stampin' Up! bits and pieces from my stash!

Materials (all Stampin' Up!)
stamps: Always, Friends 24-7
ink: Chocolate Chip, Tangerine Tango
card: So Saffron, Tangerine Tango (textured) Riding Hood Red (textured), Whisper White, Chocolate Chip
other: Heart to Heart Punch, Designer Clips, Chocolate Chip Double-Stitched Ribbon, Crystal Effects, Dimensionals, Pop-Up Glue Dots, Washington Apple DSP, On Board Lots of Letters

Edited to Add: You have until September 15 to take part. The Challenge is open to anyone in Australia OR New Zealand
Thanks Kerry. I've added Mr Linky now....must have been having a vague moment!!

  1. What a fabulous challenge Marelle - there are great designs in the catalogue - you have motivated me to create - thanks.
I love your take on the challenge - something that looks so simle in the book; but it actually had alot of detail!

  3. Hi Marelle,
I've entered my first challenge, so I really hope I've entered my link correctly via Mr Linky!! :)
Its a little set of notecards and matching box using Forest Friends (1 card is pretty much cased but that got my mojo flowing for the other card and box lol)

  7. Sorry Marelle, I messed up the first Mr Linky I did, and had to try again. My card is based on the same pic as yours but very loosly.

  8. Hi Marelle,

Great challenge especially as I had just made a card using the Spring Mini as inspiration! I chose the "Kind" card, page 12, and hope the link works ok.

  10. Hi Marelle, Great challenge and takes the guesswork out of creating card layouts!! Have uploaded 2 cards. Both use the colour combo from the Ski Slope DSP on page 20. Card 1 is based on the card on page 21 and Card 2 is based on the card on page 3. Had lots of fun making these...first time entering a challenge for me!! Thanks, Dione Bird

  11. Hi Marelle. I've finally got around to joining in with the fun! Your card was a great inspiration. It triggered off all these ideas. The most difficult part was deciding which one to use, because the Spring Mini is a great source of inspiration and all the new products are pretty 'yummy'.
    Thanks,
    Bronwyn :)

Thanks for opening this challenge up to New Zealanders too! I was getting a bit stuck in a rut with my card-making style so this was a great chance to try something a little bit different..

  13. Hi Marelle, I have managed to enter my very first challenge with you. After going through my stash of cards I had made recently and came across one which I think fits the challenge. Thank you.
