CCMC561 Southern Serenade

It's Thursday, and that means it's Challenge time again over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com. This week is a colour challenge, and these are the colours we had to work with:

I think this stamp set - Southern Serenade - is the retiring stamp set that I'm going to miss most. I had to give it one last spin before it's gone forever. The flowers are so pretty, and easy to colour, and I just love the lacy background stamp. I've also used the sentiments in this set to death. They seem to fit perfectly on just about every card I make, and work really well in circle punches too. For some extra 'oomph', I cut out 3 of the flowers for this card, and raised them on mini dimensionals. I used Blender Pens and ink to colour them.

My background piece is from the Tranquil Textures Designer Series Paper. I ran it through the Big Shot with the Garden Trellis embossing folder. This is also retiring, so grab it while you can. To really bring out the design, I gently swiped it with my Whisper White Craft ink pad.

The finishing touch is some Braided Linen Trim...happily this is hanging around, and will be in our new Catalogue!

I hope you like my card! Check out what the other talented stampers have come up with HERE. Don't forget you can play along over on the facebook page

It's Blog Hop Time Again!

Welcome once again to the Stampers Anonymous Team Blog Hop! Our theme this month is Retiring Items.

My first thought when I heard about the theme was 'Lovely as a Tree'. It's been around nearly as long as I have (I've been a Demonstrator since May 2006 and it first made an appearance in our 2007-8 Annual Catalogue). But, it's time to say goodbye to this Old Timer (the stamp set, not me!!).

I was inspired by the sunset from my Stamp Room window for this card. I made my sunset using Sponge Brayers on Glossy cardstock (this is also retiring). I used So Saffron, Night of Navy and Poppy Parade. I stamped the trees in Black Stazon ink, and then masked off the top, so I could sponge the ground in black.

I stamped my sentiment (from another retiring tree set, Sheltering Tree) in Versamark ink on Basic Black cardstock, sprinkled with Copper Embossing Powder, and heat set. I added a Copper Leaves Trinket, and a Linen Thread bow for embellishment (happily, these are both hanging around).

My background paper is from the Classic Garage Paper Pack (also retiring). It was a little too grey, so I darkened the tone by swiping my Black inkpad across it.

Make sure you check out what everyone else has made with Retiring Items. You can make the complete circuit and see all the lovely creations by following the links at the end of each post.

Well, that’s all from me. Thanks for stopping by! Click on the button below to move to the next stop:

All my Love Again!

Here's another version of the customer thank you card I showed you last week.

I used another pattern from the All my Love Designer Series Paper from the Occasions Catalogue. This paper will be retiring with the Occasions Catalogue, so grab it while you still can! The stamp set I've used for the sentiment is called Another Wonderful Year and it is also retiring. It contains sentiments for just about every occasion.

For embellishment, I punched out a flower and leaf from the DSP using the (also retiring!) Bitty Blooms Punch Pack.

Here are both cards together:

CCMC560 Petal Palette for Mother's Day

It's Thursday, and that means it's Challenge time again over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com.
This week is a sketch challenge, and this is the sketch we had to work with:

This was a difficult card to make. Sunday is Mother's Day here in Australia and it will be my first Mother's Day without my Mum. I made this card for my lovely Mother-in-law and poured all my love into it.

I used the retiring Petal Palette stamp set. I just love this set and will be sad to see it go. I inked up the rose image with my markers and then watercoloured with a Blender pen and ink. The sentiment is from the Strong and Beautiful stamp set in the Occasions Catalogue. I also used 2 sets of Designer Series papers from the Occasions Catalogue - Gingham Gala and Beautifully Detailed Laser-cut paper.

Can you spot a new colour on this card? My colour combo is Highland Heather, Lemon Lime Twist and Purple Posy. Purple Posy is a brand new In Color - coming in the new Catalogue on June 4. It's such a soft, pretty shade that you're going to be seeing a lot more of! Sadly, Lemon Lime Twist is leaving us. Even though we have a few shades of green, I'm really going to miss the vibrancy of this tone.

I hope you like my card, and hopefully my Mother-in-law will too! Check out what the other talented stampers have come up with HERE. Don't forget you can play along over on the facebook page!

All My Love Thankyou

At the end of every month, I like to send out thank you cards to my lovely customers who have shopped through me.

This month I've used some lovely Designer Series Paper from the Occasions Catalogue called All my Love. I made my cards using a variety of different sheets, but I think this one was my fave!

This paper will be retiring with the Occasions Catalogue, so grab it while you still can! The stamp set I've used for the sentiment is called Another Wonderful Year and it is also retiring. It contains sentiments for just about every occasion.

Once I'd put it together, I still felt my card needed a little something, so I punched out a flower and leaf from the DSP using the Bitty Blooms Punch Pack. I'm a bit sad that these little punches didn't make it into our new Annual Catalogue. I love popping a little flower on my projects.

If you have eagle eyes, you might be able to spot a new In Color on my card. I couldn't resist adding a little strip of Rococo Rose...it matches this paper perfectly!

CCMC559 Eclectic Layers

It's Thursday, and that means it's Challenge time again over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com. This week is a colour challenge, and these are the colours we had to work with:

I decided to pull out a few old favourite stamp sets for this challenge. I used 3 stamp sets on this card and they are all retiring - Oh So Eclectic, Another Wonderful Year (for the sentiment) and Touches of Texture (for the background spatters).

I don't use a lot of Real Red (except at Christmas), but when I do use it, I always really like the result. I really should pull it out more often. Doesn't it look fantastic with Lemon Lime Twist (Retiring In Color - I'm definitely going to miss this colour!)

I also used some Retiring DSP on this card, from the 6"x6" Regals Stack. For embellishment, I popped on a few little Rhinestones. I used the Eclectic Layers dies (retiring) and also the Leaf Punch (not retiring, thank goodness - I use this one a lot!).

I CaSEd this card from one of the samples in our new Catalogue. That's one of my favourite parts about having a new catalogue - all the inspiration it provides!

I hope you like my card! Check out what the other talented stampers have come up with HERE. Don't forget you can play along over on the facebook page
