CCMC484 Quilted Christmas Trees

It's Thursday, and that means it's Challenge time again over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com.
This week is a sketch challenge, and this is the sketch we had to work with:

Making Christmas cards always gets me in the Christmas Spirit, and since Christmas is only a month-and-a-bit away (*gasp!*), I thought I'd better put some Ho Ho Ho in my life.
  • The only stamping on this card is the sentiment (from the Oh, What Fun stamp set in the Annual Catalogue). The rest is all from the Quilted Christmas DSP Stack.
  • The sentiment has been punched out using the Classic Label Punch
  • I snipped out a couple of 'trees' from the quilted triangle patterned sheet, and then I cut my own larger tree from one of the other patterns
  • I made my banner shape using Real Red cardstock and the Triple Banner Punch

I hope you like my card. Check out what the other talented stampers have come up with HERE. Don't forget you can play along over on the facebook page!

Stampin' Up! OnStage Event

I've just returned from an amazing couple of days on the Gold Coast. I was there to attend our Stampin' Up! Demonstrator event. Here I am with some of my lovely (and excited!) team members.
There was much excitement as we got to preview the upcoming Occasions Catalogue and Sale-a-Bration brochure (released in January), and we even got to play with new products...once the Stampin' Alarms had been turned off!

We were also lucky enough to receive tons of giveaways and prizes. Stampin' Up! sure know how to spoil us!
Throughout the day we watched both streamed stamping presentations from the US, plus live demonstrations from our Aussie Demos.
Stampin' Up! also announced awards and recognition for Top Demonstrators both locally and globally. I walked the stage for achieving the Alaska Incentive Trip and then I got a lovely surprise when my name was announced for 3rd in Australia for recruiting!
I was cheering and clapping for my fellow Demonstrators for the other awards, when I got the shock of my life. They count down the Top 10 in Australia and I never dreamed for a second that my name would be in there. I almost fell on the floor when my name was called out for Number 2. I thought maybe I'd misheard, but there it was up on the screen:
I'm still half-expecting someone to call me and tell me that they made a big mistake!
The next HUGE surprise was when this happened:

There are approximately 50,000 Demonstrators in the world and I am Number 75. I can't quite get my head around it! I'm a shortie, and as the day went on, my lanyard got longer and longer, until I had to hitch it up so it didn't dangle between my knees! ...not such a good look, and quite a nuisance when going to the bathroom! :)
In no way have I done this alone - I am so grateful for my amazing team, my loyal customers, and my incredibly supportive hubby. I couldn't have done it without them.
I'm still on cloud nine....do you think it would look silly if I wore my lanyard grocery shopping?! ;)

Just Add Blends

I've been colouring my little heart out with my new Stampin' Blends Markers. I pulled out my pack of Just Add Colour Designer Series Paper, and I've been working my way through all the sheets and then making cards out of them. It's great therapy, and very practical too. My blood pressure has been playing up lately, so I'm hoping the colouring in will relax and de-stress me!

These pens are so user-friendly. You'll get very professional results straight away. My colour scheme on this card is Calypso Coral and Pool Party, with a few other spring-y shades thrown in. The Calypso Coral Ombre ribbon is just divine, and I've even coloured a Subtle Enamel Shape to match my colour scheme (the heart was originally pink, but I transformed it using a Rich Razzleberry Blends pen).

CCMC483 Color Me Happy

It's Thursday, and that means it's Challenge time again over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com.
This week is a colour challenge, and these are the colours we had to work with:

I wouldn't have thought to put these 3 colours together - 2 such pale tomes with 1 dark one - but I quite like the effect.
  • I couldn't resist playing with my new toys - the Color Me Happy stamp set and Stampin' Blends markers
  • There isn't a Powder Pink Stampin' Blend, so I had to use regular ink and Aquapainter to colour that bird. As you can see, the shading is not quite as even!
  • My birds are chatting up on a wire (it's actually the string in the stamp set to hang lanterns from!)
  • For a sweet little embellishment, I used a Powder Pink Bitty Bow. These come all ready to use, with a glue dot on the back
  • Under the bow are just 2 punched circles, one from the Petal Garden Paper Stack and the other from Pool Party cardstock, which I've shaded using a Pool Party Stampin' Blend
I hope you like my card. Check out what the other talented stampers have come up with HERE. Don't forget you can play along over on the facebook page!

Happy Celebrations Stamp-a-Stack

This is the other set of cards we are making in my classes this week. We are using the Happy Celebrations stamp set, and co-ordinating embossing folders. These cards would also make a lovely Christmas Gift, packaged into the C6 Acetate Boxes.
I love a stamp set with bold words and patterns. It means that you don't have to work very hard to make creative designs!

My colour scheme is Island Indigo, Pool Party, Tangerine Tango, Peekaboo Peach and Basic Black.
TIP: the triangle stamps make a cute little star when you stamp it twice in opposite directions!

Flamingo Tide Stamp-a-Stack

It's Stamp-a-Stack Class week. We're taking a break from Christmas to make some all-occasion cards....which would actually make a lovely Christmas present! 4 cards, plus envelopes fit perfectly into the C6 Acetate Boxes.

I've used the Fabulous Flamingo stamp set, combined with the High Tide stamp set. Both of these sets have some lovely scenery stamps, that are perfect for building a landscape. As you can see, they complement eachother really well.
My colour scheme is Flirty Flamingo (of course!), Pear Pizzazz and Marina Mist, with just a touch of Smoky Slate.

CCMC482 Birthday Blooms Blends

It's Thursday, and that means it's Challenge time again over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com.
This week is a sketch challenge, and this is the sketch we had to work with:

I love to colour in and I've been having lots of fun colouring with the new Stampin' Blends lately. So, when I saw this sketch, guess what I reached for?
  • These pretty flowers  and sentiment are part of the Birthday Blooms stamp set. I've stamped in Black Memento ink and coloured using the new Stampin' Blends.
  • The Blends colours I've used are Calypso Coral, Old Olive and Daffodil Delight. I've used the Light Smoky Slate pen for the shadow
  • The Quilt Top embossing folder adds some subtle texture to the background. I wanted the flower to stand out, so I kept the background white.
  • The decorative strips were cut from the Petal Garden paper stack
I hope you like my card. Check out what the other talented stampers have come up with HERE. Don't forget you can play along over on the facebook page!
