Attic Boutique Tea Cup

When I saw the new mini, I wasn't sure I was going to like the Attic Boutique Paper...but now that I've used it, I'm really loving it. I love the way that just using a different patterned paper can step you out of your comfort zone. It makes you put together colours that you might not normally use. This paper lends itself to a more vintage style than I would usually use, but it's fun to try something a little bit different. On this card, I actually stamped the tea cup in Soft Suede ink on the patterned paper. I also used 3 squares of patterned paper underneath. When you use patterns from the same pack, you know it will always match perfectly :o)
I've added a few finishing touches on this card - some tiny pearls on the teacup, some new Pool Party Seam Binding ribbon, a So Saffron button, Pool Party Baker's Twine and a Jewellery Tag  for the sentiment. I also used the Scallop Ribbon border punch down the side, and the French Filigree background on the So Saffron piece.

If this card looks a bit familiar, check out the front cover of the Summer Mini. I took the card featured there as inspiration, but put my own spin on it.
I used the gorgeous new Flower Garden Embossing Folder on Wisteria Wonder cardstock and used a dauber to add a touch of Frost White Shimmer Paint to it, just to make it stand out a little bit more. The sentiment is from one of my most-used greeting set Petite Pairs. These little stamps always seem to say just what I need to say, in just the right size. I've also used a few other favourites on this card - a mini library clip (so cute!), Seam Binding Ribbon, and the Stripes Embossing Folder.
I whipped up a couple of these for some recent Special Birthdays, and sent them on their way.

 

Up in the Air Square Card

Here's another card that showcases the gorgeous *FREE* Everyday Enchantment DSP in the Sale-a-Bration brochure. I've paired it with the *FREE* Hostess set Up in the Air on the first page of the Summer Mini. The stamped circle is the 1-3/4" Circle punch, and I've matted it on a Pool Party Circle that I've die-cut using the Big Shot Circles Die. I watercoloured the image using Blender Pens. The finishing touch is Crumb Cake Seam Binding ribbon, layered with the *FREE* Sale-a-Bration ribbon.

for a special someone...

I made this card for a special friend who had a birthday recently. It's always more fun making a card when you have a specific recipient in mind :o) I had fun playing with some of my favourite products on this card. I dyed and spritzed paper flowers, and I also wet and then crumpled some of the gorgeous Seam Binding ribbon. And I have used my favourite DSP, Paisley Petals. The finishing touch was an Antique Brad...they are sooo pretty!

Incentive Trip Swap

What's this? A card?? An actual card on my blog? Your eyes are not deceiving you, there is actually some stamping on here for a change, a trend that I am hoping to continue! This was my swap on Incentive Trip - a Christmas card in non-traditional colours (Pool Party and Pear Pizzazz on a Crumb Cake base) with baubles made using the Blossom Petals Builder Punch. I've incorporated lots of little details on this card; Music Notes along the bottom, the Lace Ribbon Border punch, Seam Binding Ribbon, "Fine Flourish" stamped under the words, a swirl from "Creative Elements" coloured with a Blender Pen and I also embossed my 'baubles' in the Big Shot.
Swapping is always a highlight on the Trip, and this time was no exception. I received some gorgeous creations, which have been oohed and aahed over in my recent classes.
