Sweet Symmetry

July Blog Hop

Welcome to another Stampers Anonymous Team Blog Hop! I haven't managed to play along for the last couple of hops, but I'm so happy to be able to join in again. This month we have a Sketch Challenge. You can make the complete circuit and see all the lovely creations by following the links at the end of each post.

Here is my take on the sketch:

I used this sketch as a chance to break out an un-inked stamp set. The Seascape stamp set has some really sweet fishy images and words. I've taken my colour combination from a somewhat unlikely source - the Hand-Penned Designer Series Paper, which I've used for the strips on my card. The colours I've used are Pool Party, Mint Macaron, Pale Papaya and Daffodil Delight.

I cut out my images and placed them around the stamped coral. I used some Clear Epoxy Essentials as 'bubbles' on this card, and a touch of shimmer to the fish using Wink of Stella .

Pansies and Gingham

I'm kicking off DSP Sale month with a card made almost entirely using just DSP! The only part of this card that I've stamped is the sentiment. I snipped the pansy flowers and leaves from the DSP, but if you're not a fan of fussy-cutting, the dies actually cut them out too - how clever is that? And I'm loving the gingham patterns in this DSP too.

The base colour of this card is Soft Succulent. It's proving to be a firm favourite of mine already. It works really well with Evening Evergreen too!

Beauty of the Earth

How's this for a super quick and easy card? Just a 10cm x 14.3cm piece of Designer Series Paper, and a sentiment (I highly recommend the Shaded Summer Stamp set for some very versatile greetings).

I did add some texture with an embossing folder and some linen thread. This would be a great masculine card. There are lots of other fabulous patterns in the Beauty of the Earth DSP pack.

Bloom Where You're Planted

I have some more DSP love to share with you today. The Bloom Where You're Planted Suite was on my first catalogue order and I have had so much fun playing with it. It makes a nice change from flowers, and that macrame plant hanger reminds me of the one I made in 3rd grade! The stamps and dies promise endless possibilites and the Designer Series Paper is perfect or quick and easy cards (15% off this month!)

This card is definitely of the quick and easy variety - it's all cut from the DSP (apart from the stamped sentiment).
