Well Suited

I must admit, I was a bit surprised how much fun it was to dress a card up in a suit! The 'fabric' patterns in the Well Suited Designer Series Paper are so realistic - they make perfect suits, ties and shirts! You almost have to touch them to realise it's just paper, not fabric. And with the dies you can make all sorts of combinations, from formal tuxedos to business shirts, to checkered pyjamas...perfect for all the men in your life!

CCMC646 A Touch of Ink

It's Thursday, and that means it's Challenge time again over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com. This week is a colour challenge, and these are the colours we had to work with:

The hardest thing about having new stamps to play with is deciding which ones to ink up first! For this colour challenge, I decided on the pretty flowers and leaves in A Touch of Ink.  

This 2-step stamp set makes it so easy to make quick cards. I used full-strength colour for the outline image and stamped-off once for the bold image. The sentiment I've used is from the same set.

The patterned paper I've used is from Fine Art Floral, in the Mini Catalogue. I used a piece of vellum across the front for a touch of softness. The ribbon is from the Flowers for Every Season Combo pack.

January Blog Hop

Welcome to another Stampers Anonymous Team Blog Hop! I missed last month as I was in the middle of all things Christmas (and an Engagement Party for my daughter!), but happily I can join in again this month. You can make the complete circuit and see all the lovely creations by following the links at the end of each post.

For January our brief was to use products from the Mini Catalogue and/or Sale-a-Bration brochure. With so many lovely products in these catalogue to choose from, the hardest part was choosing which ones to focus on! Here's what I made:

I has such fun colouring this succulent image from the Simply Succulents stamp set on page 39 of the Mini Catalogue. I love this colour scheme too - Just Jade, Pretty Peacock and Old Olive... and Cinnamon Cider is the perfect Terracotta Pot colour! I used Blends to colour the image and dies to cut it out.

The Designer Series Paper in the background is part of the bundle you get for free when you join Stampin' Up! during Sale-a-Bration. There's 200 sheets of paper in the bundle - Definitely a great perk!

I think the Braided Linen Trim adds the perfect rustic touch to this card. I stamped the sentiment on Crumb Cake cardstock to complement the trim.

Snappy Birthday

Did you spot the Oh Snap stamp set on page 47 of the Mini Catalogue? I couldn't resist the cheeky crocodile and his buddies. It has a bunch of punny sentiments to go along with it too. I knew I'd have lots of fun making cards for the boys in my life with this set. 

For this card, I used the FREE Sale-a-Bration Oh So Ombre Paper behind my crocodile. I think it works well as a watery background. The colours here are Bermuda Bay, Granny Apple Green and Pumpkin Pie - bright and fun!

Sweet Ice Creams

I couldn't resist the Ice Cream Corner Suite. The bright colours and fun patterns lured me in, and then the stamp set with it's fabulous fonts and matching punch sealed the deal! 

This is the first card I made using the set, but you'll be seeing lots more. This was just a quick one, using the Designer Series paper and a couple of the sentiments.

A New Addition to the Family!

The Baby Brother to the Big Boss is here! The Mini Stampin' Cut & Emboss machine is now available to order. I have one sitting on my desk and it's just the cutest. It has all the features of the big one, but it only weighs just over 1kg, so it's super portable. Check it out in the Store.

CCMC645 Paper Blooms

It's Thursday, and that means it's Challenge time again over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com.
This week is a sketch challenge, and this is the sketch we had to work with:

This card is all about Sale-a-Bration. I love having new products to play with, and it's even better when they're free! For this card, I've used the Paper Blooms Designer Series Paper - all of the patterned pieces are from that pack, and so are the flowers, which I've fussy cut.

The sentiment is another Sale-a-Bration item - it's from the Heal Your Heart stamp set. Isn't the font just stunning? I rounded the corners using the Detailed Trio Punch.

The ribbon I've used is from the Ornate Garden Ribbon Combo pack.
