StampingPals Challenge #SP4

Today I have a card to show you that I made for the StampingPals Challenge Blog. I was honoured to be chosen as a winner of the April Challenge, and so I have the privilege of creating a card to be featured alongside the Design Team for the June 2020 Challenge. This month we have a Colour Challenge:

I've used some brand new products on my card. Our new Catalogue goes LIVE in just a couple of days - June 3! Demonstrators had a chance to pre-order some of the new products, and I've been having fun playing with them.

This stamp set is called Blossoms in Bloom and I just love the watercoloured look. It's a distINKtive stamp set, so the flowers have a beautiful depth to them. I've given them even more depth by inking them up, stamping off onto scrap paper and then using a marker to apply ink around the centres. I then spritzed the stamp with water to give it even more of a watercolour effect.

A few finishing touches take this card to the next level:

  • Gorgeous new Terracotta Tile ribbon from the Ornate Garden Ribbon Combo Pack
  • The patterned paper is from the Ornate Garden Specialty Pack
  • I used the new Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder on the Early Espresso piece
  • I punched the sentiment with the new Lovely Labels Pick a Punch. I love how this punch makes multiple patterns and layers!
  • I embellished the punched sentiment with a swirl of gold thread (pulled apart to make it even thinner) from the Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack
  • I also added some Flowers for Every Season Gems

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you like my card!

CCMC614 Special Someone

It's Thursday, and that means it's Challenge time again over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com.
This week is a sketch challenge, and this is the sketch we had to work with:

Every now and then I feel like making something cute and girly, and I think this definitely ticks those boxes! The Special Someone stamp set in the Mini Catalogue is carrying over into our new Annual Catalogue, and I am so glad. I'm nowhere near done with these little cuties!

I used Flirty Flamingo and Granny Apple Green as my colour scheme. They're a bit brighter than my usual go-to colours, but I felt like stepping out of my comfort zone. I coloured the images with my Blends (as usual!), and cut them out, so I could pop them up. I'm going to miss this gingham pattern in the Colour Collections 6"x 6" DSP. We have some new patterns coming though, so I'm sure I'll find a new one to love.

I hope you like my card. Check out what the other talented stampers have come up with HERE. Don't forget you can play along over on the facebook page!

Peaceful Poppies Tag Card

I'm so glad the poppies are hanging around. I've loved using them in our Mini Catalogue, and now we have a whole year to keep using them.

Sadly though, the co-ordinating Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper isn't staying, so grab that now! I used that, and the Peaceful Poppies Elements (also retiring) to make a quick tag. Then, I popped it on a card. Super quick and easy!

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day!

I was so glad to see that the Positive Thoughts stamp set and matching Nature's Thoughts dies are in our new Catalogue.

Even better news is that you don't have to wait until June 3 to get your hand on the dies. You can order them now! See them HERE

This colour combination is Pool Party, Old Olive and Smoky Slate...so soft and pretty!

CCMC613 Waterfront Beach

It's Thursday, and that means it's Challenge time again over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com. This week is a colour challenge, and these are the colours we had to work with:

I thought these colours looked a little beachy, but rather than go for an obvious 'seaside' stamp set, I pulled out my Waterfront set, and made a beach view!

This was a quick card to make...you can't really go wrong with this stamp set. I kept the background pretty plain too - just some In Color DSP that I ran through my die-cutting machine with the Pinewood Planks embossing folder, and then swiped with a Seaside Spray inkpad.

I hope you like my card. Check out what the other talented stampers have come up with HERE. Don't forget you can play along over on the facebook page!

Pretty Poppies

I was so glad to see that the Painted Poppies stamp set is carrying over into the new Annual Catalogue, because I am nowhere near finished playing with it. And who says poppies have to be red? Mine are Highland Heather, Petal Pink and Daffodil Delight. I'm not sure if that still makes them poppies, but they're still pretty!

I made a batch of these birthday cards for some special people. You can see everything I used to make them listed below. I used Wink of Stella on the flowers, so they have a pretty shimmer.

Thanks for stopping by!

CCMC612 Purple Blossoms

It's Thursday, and that means it's Challenge time again over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com.
This week is a sketch challenge, and this is the sketch we had to work with:

I made this card for my lovely Mother-in-Law for Mother's Day. Here in Australia, that was last Sunday. It's been a bittersweet day for me, since losing my Mum a couple of years ago. I was definitely thinking of her all day.

My mother-in-law loves purples and lilacs, so that's what I've used here. I'm not sure you'd see blossoms in this colour in real life, but isn't that the beauty of stamping? Flowers can be any colour your heart desires!

I brought in some Soft Sea Foam for the green. I think it works well with Purple Posy and Highland Heather. The sentiment is from Itty Bitty Greetings. It's such a handy stamp set, with sentiments for all occasions. I also used some Wink of Stella for a bit of sparkle on the flowers.

I hope you like my card. Check out what the other talented stampers have come up with HERE. Don't forget you can play along over on the facebook page!
