May Blog Hop

Welcome to another Stampers Anonymous Team Blog Hop! This month we have a Sketch Challenge. You can make the complete circuit and see all the lovely creations by following the links at the end of each post.

Here is my take on the sketch:

I was a bit devoid of inspiration today, so I CaSED a card by the very clever Teneale Williams. I LOVE her card, and of course mine hasn't turned out nearly as gorgeous. Oh, well! We can't all be card-making geniuses!!

I stamped the largest flower and some leaves from Painted Poppies on my piece of Whisper White cardstock in Memento Black ink. I used a post-it note mask so that the leaves would be behind the flowers. I coloured the whole piece using Blends and then gave it the Subtle Embossing folder treatment. I then used the small ink spatter stamp to give it a bit of a distressed look, using Gray Granite ink.

I think the Braided Linen trim is the perfect accompaniment. I also gave my sentiment a little extra detail using the Stitched So Sweetly dies.

Well, that’s all from me. Thanks for stopping by! Click on the button below to move to the next stop:

Springtime Impressions Partial Die-cutting

I'm a bit sad to say goodbye to these Springtime Impressions Dies. They add such a wow factor to a card, and lend themselves to some great techniques too.

The technique I've used here is called Partial Die-cutting. The floral layer is one single piece of cardstock. I die-cut the top half first, then the lower half, leaving a gap in the middle, where I stamped the sentiment (from the Peaceful Moments stamp set). I used Peaceful Poppies DSP for the background. I finished off with a piece of Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding ribbon, and a few rhinestones in the lower centres. I CaSEd this card from a card by Jennifer McGuire.

Thanks for visiting today!

Beautiful Moments in Teal

And here is the final card is my series of three. This time I've used the image of the 2 little girls, and highlighted the outside of the image with Pool Party Blends. I then coloured the buckets using Pretty Peacock (which for some reason has come out looking like Bermuda Bay in the photo?).

And here are all 3 cards:

So, which one is your favourite?

CCMC611 A Definite Challenge!

It's Thursday, and that means it's Challenge time again over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com. This week is a colour challenge, and these are the colours we had to work with:

I have to say I really struggled with these colours, and I think it shows in my card. It was one of those cards that, when I'd finished, I wanted to throw in the bin! Do you ever have that reaction?

I started off by CaSEing a card on the front of our new Annual Catalogue, but I think these colours just have too much contrast, and I ended up with a traffic light, or maybe the flag of Ghana?!

I've used the Positive Thoughts stamp set on this card. I think I need to challenge myself to remake it in some softer colours, and see if I can make it work. Then, I'll have to challenge myself try again with these colours and make them work!

Check out what the other talented stampers have come up with HERE. Don't forget you can play along over on the facebook page!

Beautiful Moments in Coral

Here is my second Beautiful Moments card. I used Petal Pink this time to highlight the outside of the images, and then coloured the dresses in Calypso Coral. I love this sweet image, and I think this sentiment works with it perfectly.

I'll be back to show you my third version soon ....Stay tuned!

Beautiful Moments in Purple

Today I have a quick and simple card to share, using the Beautiful Moments stamp set. I used the reverse colouring technique - colouring outside the lines to highlight the image. I used Purple Posy Blends to achieve this look. I then gave the flower sprigs some colour using Blackberry Bliss Blends.

I actually made 3 variations on this design, in 3 different colourways, using all three images in the set. I'll show you those over the next couple of posts!

Thanks for stopping by!

StampingPals Challenge #SP3

Today I have a card to show you that I made for the StampingPals Challenge Blog. I was honoured to be chosen as a winner of the March Challenge, and so I have the privilege of creating a card to be featured alongside the Design Team for the May 2020 Challenge. The theme for May is: Birthdays:

Such a dilemma! Which stamp set to choose??? I decided on one that I love, but haven't used much yet - Layered with Kindness.

I went with a soft and feminine colour scheme - Petal Pink, Soft Sea Foam and Copper. I think it's the touches of copper that take this card to the next level. I've used metallic edged ribbon, rhinestones and some Copper Foil. This stamp set is so delicate and pretty, and it's the perfect partner for the new "Label Me" punches. You can see all the products I've used listed below.

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you like my card!
