Breathtaking Bouquet

Sometimes a stamp needs very little added to it. In this case, just colour. It's called Breathtaking Bouquet. You might have missed this one (it's on page 31 of the Mini Catalogue) as it's not pictured full size in the Catalogue.
To make this card, I simply coloured it with my Blends, added a sentiment and a piece of ribbon and voila! Now I need to try it in lots of different colours. I think a watercolour wash would also look lovely.

CCMC594 Birthday Bonanza

It's Thursday, and that means it's Challenge time again over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com.
This week is a sketch challenge, and this is the sketch we had to work with:

I've been itching to play with the Birthday Bonanza Suite in the Mini Catalogue, and this was the perfect opportunity. The little guys in this suite are super cute, and perfect for a fun card for the young, or young at heart. 

I started with the Designer Series Paper for the background panel and then snipped 2 Toucans from the paper too. One has a party hat and the other is holding balloons, but I placed them on top of eachother (with mini dimensionals in between) so that I could have both!

I blinged it up a bit with some From my Heart Faceted Gems and some Shimmery Crystal Effects (happily, this product is carrying over and is still available to order). I've used it on the balloons and the Party Hat pom-pom. 

This was such a fun card to make! Now I need to use the other cute animals in the Suite. Check out what the other talented stampers have come up with HERE. Don't forget you can play along over on the facebook page!

Purple Poppies

Who said poppies had to be red? When they're stamped, they can be whatever colour you like! I made this card for a special birthday. I had fun colouring and arranging this bouquet!

I just adore this new Parisian Flourish embossing folder. It's just stunning and adds a real touch of  luxe.

Timeless Tropical from the Catalogue

As you probably already know, I love to copy the samples from the Catalogue, especially when it's a brand new Catalogue! You'll find a card very similar to this one on page 38 of the new Mini Catalogue.

I love this hibiscus and frangipanis from the Timeless Tropical stamp set. They were quick and easy to colour with Blends too. That Burlap Trim and Coastal Weave Embossing Folder add the perfect rustic touch. Terracotta Tile is not a colour I would normally think of for a tropical card, but I think it works really well.

CCMC593 Best Dressed Birthday

It's Thursday, and that means it's Challenge time again over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com. This week is a colour challenge, and these are the colours we had to work with:

Aren't these pastel shades so pretty! Since Sale-a-Bration starts tomorrow (!!!!) I decided to use the Happy Birthday to You stamp set. This could be yours for free when you place a $90 order during Sale-a-Bration. 

There's lots of white embossing powder on this card - the cake, the cake stand and the sentiment. I used Blends to colour the cake and flowers. The Petal Pink Organdy Striped Ribbon works beautifully on this card. It's so delicate and pretty. The patterned paper is a Sneak Peek from the new Mini Catalogue (Live Tomorrow!!). It's called Best Dressed, and if you like floral, pretty patterns, you're going to adore it (I do!).
