Retiring Items Heads-Up!

Our new Annual Catalogue is due out on June 4 (I've seen it and it's amazing!!), and the Retiring List will be out tomorrow. That means lots of items are being discontinued ...have you stocked up on your 2017-19 In Color refills and cardstock yet?

We have just been given a heads-up about some items that will NOT be featuring in our new Catalogue. You might like to stock up on these while you can:

1. Due to some challenges with the manufacturer, the Stampin' Trimmer and its accessories will no longer be available. There is a new trimmer in the works, but it isn't ready just yet. Stampin' Up! hope to be able supply blades for the next 6 months, but there may be times where they are unorderable. From tomorrow (when the retiring list comes out) the blades will be limited to a purchase of 6 packs per order.
2. The Big Shot will also not appear in our new catalogue. Stampin' Up! have parted with Sizzix, and will start to use their own manufacturer. The dies and folders in the new Catalogue will be slightly different (but will still work in all machines), but their own machine isn’t quite ready yet. So just a heads up if you need blades or plates for your Big Shot. Note that retiring dies may sell out before the end of the Catalogue period, and stock will not be replenished, so grab them while you can!

Welcome to another Stampers Anonymous Team Blog Hop! This month we have a Sketch Challenge. You can make the complete circuit and see all the lovely creations by following the links at the end of each post.

Here is my take on the sketch:

I decided to go a bit girly with this sketch. This gorgeous paper is from the All My Love DSP pack. The designs and colours in this pack are just so pretty! I've combined it with the Tea Together stamp set, just stamped in black on Whisper White cardstock. I cut out a flower from the DSP to dress it up a bit. I tried popping my cup on a few different colours of stitched circles, before finally settling on vellum. Everything else looked too much, but the vellum is soft and pretty.

The sentiment is also from the Tea Together stamp set.

It's Thursday, and that means it's Challenge time again over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com.
This week is a sketch challenge, and this is the sketch we had to work with:

 

I love the simplicity of this sketch, so I decided to keep my card pretty clean and simple. The little flower is from the Made to Bloom card kit, in the Occasions Catalogue. I coloured it with Blends.

 

I love the stamp set that goes with this kit, and I've used it a LOT. In my opinion, it's worth buying the kit just for the stamp set (although the cards and box are awesome too!). An added bonus is that the sentiment stamps work really well with all the cards in the Incredible Like You Kit too.

 

My colour combo here is Lovely Lipstick, Smoky Slate and Basic Grey (with a touch of Old Olive for the leaves). The sentiment is from the Well Said bundle (both the stamped and the die-cut word). I've also used the Polka Dot embossing folder and some Whisper White Flax ribbon. The Designer Series Paper is one of the Lovely Lipstick patterns from the 2018-20 Stack.

Stepped Up Bloom

Here is the stepped-up version of THIS card. I made just a few changes, but they really add an extra dimension.
Instead of leaving the background plain, I embossed it with the Dot to Dot folder. Instead of a plain rectangle, I made it a Stitched Rectangle. Instead of just stamping the sentiment, I also used a die. And instead of stamping the dots, I used Enamel Dot embellishments.

They are all simple changes, but it really steps up this card to the next level.

Simple Bloom

We made this card at our recent Team Get-together. This is the simple version, using just stamps, ink and paper. It's a versatile card that would work for just about any occasion if you changed the sentiment to suit. The layout would work with many different stamp sets and Designer Series Papers too.

This simple version is perfect for beginner stampers, or those who don’t own a Big Shot, or even the more experienced of us who just need a quick no-fuss card. You could use any sentiment (I used one from the Made to Bloom All-inclusive Kit).

My colour combo is Night of Navy, Calypso Coral and Call me Clover (love these together!). I stamped off the smaller flower to get the lighter shade.

CCMC555 Marbled and Gold

 

It's Thursday, and that means it's Challenge time again over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com. This week is a colour challenge, and these are the colours we had to work with:

 

I decided to pull out a neglected stamp from my collection for this week's challenge - the Marbled background stamp. I love this stamp, but haven't used it in a while. I inked the stamp up with sponge daubers in all 3 colours and stamped on Whisper White cardstock. Then I decided to add a touch of gold. I used the corner of my Versamark inkpad to apply just a touch of ink to my stamped marbled paper, in a few areas. Then I sprinkled with gold embossing powder and heat-set. Next I chopped my cardstock into thirds, just to break up the pattern a bit.

 

The sentiment stamp set I've used is called Friendly Expressions. I inked up the larger word with a sponge dauber, in all 3 colours. The smaller words I inked up in Versamark and embossed in white powder.

 

I've also used a couple of my go-to's on this card - the Stitched Shapes framelits and the Classic Label Punch. The finishing touch is a few gold Metallic Pearls.

Piece of Cake Birthday

I made a batch of these sweet cake cards for some special birthdays. I made them in a few different colourways, using different patterns in the Needlepoint Nook Designer Series Paper.

I popped up the cake on Mini Dimensionals (cutting it out was easy, thanks to the Cake Builder punch). I added a touch of colour using the Watercolour Pencils and Aquapainter.
