Carols of Christmas Stamp-a-Stack

Last week I held my first Christmas Stamp-a-Stack Classes for the year. Usually I would start these in July, so I'm a bit delayed this year!
This is the first set of 4 cards that we made. I've used the beautiful Carols of Christmas bundle in shades of blue. I chose 2 of my favourite colours - Island Indigo and Night of Navy.
I've given the words a two-tone effect by first inking the whole stamp in Island Indigo and the inking up just the top and bottom portion in Night of Navy. This won't ruin your inkpad if you start with the lighter colour first.
I love the look of the Marbled Background stamp. You can see it on the Island Indigo squares and also on the white pieces behind the Night of Navy squares.

CCMC475 A Little Wild Lion

It's Thursday, and that means it's Challenge time again over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com.
This week is a colour challenge, and these are the colours we had to work with:
Fun! I love these colours together and I thought they might work for a baby card.

I've used the A Little Wild stamp set. You can find this one in the Annual Catalogue.
  • The Designer Series Paper banner is part of the Painted Autumn pack in the Holiday Catalogue. You wouldn't think that a fall-themed paper would work on a baby card, but I think it does!
  • I've used the Stitched Shapes framelits and the Layering Squares framelits to frame my little lion.
  • I've stamped my lion on Whisper White cardstock in Black archival ink and I've used ink and a Blender pen to colour him in. I then cut him out and sponged some Soft Sky ink on the square behind him and popped him up on dimensionals
I hope you like my card. Check out what the other talented stampers have come up with HERE. Don't forget you can play along over on the facebook page!

Watts of Occasions Stamp-a-Stack

This is the second Stamp-a-Stack design we made in classes last week. We used the very punny Watts of Occasions stamp set. I love these fun light bulbs.
In class I showed 4 different ways to add some colour to them. From left to right, I used a Blender Pen, an Aquapainter, a sponge dauber and a mask and sponge.
I've stamped backgrounds using different elements from the Wood Words set. I stamped in Versamark ink for a subtle tone-on-tone effect.
The colours I've used are Cherry Cobbler, Pool Party, Crushed Curry and Emerald Envy.

Oh So Eclectic Stamp-a-Stack

It was so lovely to get back into classes again last week! After a 2-month hiatus, I've missed crafting with my ladies so much.
We kicked off with a Stamp-a-Stack. These are 4 of the 8 cards we made.,,,I had resisted buying the Oh So Eclectic stamp set until recently. But, I've seen so many lovely projects with it and it swayed me with its charms. I have to say, I'm so glad I did! I've used it a LOT already. I bought the bundle, so that I could get the co-ordinating dies (and get 10% off!). I haven't used the dies on these particular cards, but I'll show you some more cards soon that make use of the dies.
My colour combination is Tranquil Tide, Soft Sky and Lemon Lime Twist, with Basic Black for the sentiment and emnbellishment.
The sentiments are from the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set.

CCMC474 Bumblebee Dreams

It's Thursday, and that means it's Challenge time again over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com.
This week is a sketch challenge, and this is the sketch we had to work with:
I had fun with this sketch, and kept it pretty simple with my colour combo - black and white with a pop of colour. Here are a few details about this card:
  • My pop of colour is Crushed Curry. It's so striking with black and white. Plus, it's the perfect colour for bees
  • How cute are these furry little bee friends? They are from the Dragonfly Dreams stamp set. I stamped them in black ink and used a Crushed Curry marker to colour in their bodies.
  • The semi-circular piece of designer Series Paper is from the Holiday Catalogue. It's part of the Merry Little Christmas pack. As you can see, not just for Christmas!
  • I stamped the sentiment (also from Dragonfly Dreams) in Versamark ink, and embossed it with white embossing powder.
I hope you like my card. Check out what the other talented stampers have come up with HERE. Don't forget you can play along over on the facebook page!

Sunflower Shapes

I must confess to being a little in love with the images in the Painted Harvest stamp set. The watercolour effect is so pretty. I'm a Van Gogh admirer from way back, and I think that's part of the reason why I'm so drawn to this set. Plus, what's not to love about sunflowers?
To make this card, I stamped a whole sheet of sunflowers and then cut them out with the Stitched Shapes framelits. I then just used a couple of sheets of the co-ordinating Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper, and a stamped sentiment and voila! One batch of cards in super-quick time.

Happy Father's Day

It's Father's Day today here in Australia, and in honour of all things DAD, today I am sharing the card I made for my Dad and Father-in-Law. I was inspired by this card, made by fellow demo, Libby Dyson.
I've used the new Jute Twine on this project (you can find it on page 13 of the Holiday Catalogue). It's perfect for masculine projects. I've used tons of it already! I love the lighthouse image in the High Tide stamp set, and it's such fun making the scene come to life with the other elements in the set.
I've also used one of my favourite products, the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper, for both the whitewashed background and also the letters. Speaking of the letters, they were a recent splurge. They've been on my wishlist for ages, and I finally succumbed! I know I'm going to get a LOT of use out of them, for many years to come.....that's my story, and I'm sticking to it!
