Ribbon of Courage Colouring Kit

Today I have another Ribbon of Courage project to show you. This was also part of my Stamping Presentation back in April.

For this project, I decided to make a set of notecards to give as a gift. Rather than fully completing these cards, I’ve made this a DIY Kit. This set fits inside one of our Cellophane Bags, so that they can be popped into a handbag and taken anywhere. The backing material from our Specialty DSP packs makes a nice sturdy board (cut to 5”x7”) and I’ve used some elastic to hold everything in place. I’ve just stamped the notecards in black ink and included a few mini coloured pencils. As we all know, colouring is great therapy. After the cards have been coloured, they can be given away, perhaps as a thank you for a meal that was provided or a ‘thinking of you’ for a friend going through a difficult time. I’ve decorated the topper to hold the bag closed.

TIP: I’ve applied Tear & Tape to the back, to hold the topper in place. For the front, I’ve applied 3 dots of Multipurpose Glue and let them dry for a few hours. This means that the bag can be opened and re-sealed without having to rip off the topper.

Sending Love and Hugs

In my Ribbon of Courage stamping presentation, I wanted to showcase the versatility of the stamp set by making some cards without the ribbon on them. I've used the pretty heart and flower images on these cards, and the "sending love and hugs to you" sentiment. These designs would work for any time you need to send a general thinking of you or get well card.
My colour scheme is Bermuda Bay, Pool Party, Whisper White and silver.

CCMC470 Happiest of Days

It's Thursday, and that means it's Challenge time again over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com.
This week is a sketch challenge, and this is the sketch we had to work with:  

This was a fun sketch to work with. I kept it pretty clean and simple for this one.

• I've used the Coffee Break Designer Series Paper, and taken my colour scheme from that
• The whimsical present image and sentiment are from the Happiest of Days stamp set
• I coloured the images using Stampin' Write markers and then applied Fine Tip glue and Dazzling Diamonds glitter over the top.

Ribbon of Courage in Pinks

It was a while ago now, and I'm way behind in blogging about it, but I had the honour of doing a Stamping Presentation at the Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Event back in April. I was asked to make some projects using the Ribbon of Courage stamp set. This set was designed in collaboration with Patty Bennett, as part of her 1 Million Career Sales Achievement.
This card would be perfect to give to someone who is going through a cancer diagnosis or treatment, to lift their spirits and let them know you are thinking of them. I’ve gone pink for Breast Cancer, but you could choose the ribbon colour that’s appropriate for your recipient.
I've embossed the ribbon image on vellum, using white embossing powder. To add some colour I've used the stained glass technique. To get this effect, simply colour with markers on the reverse side of the image. I've used 3 different shades of pink - Calypso Coral, Blushing Bride and Pink Pirouette. To adhere the vellum without the adhesive showing, sponge a light coating of multipurpose glue onto the vellum.
I've made my own background pattern by stamping the sentiments in the set in different shades of pink.

Wisteria Daisy

Sometimes I am just in the mood to make something pretty, and that is how this card came about. I am so thankful that when that urge strikes me, I have everything at my fingertips to satisfy it. The only thing lacking sometimes is enough hours in the day!
I used the Delightful Daisy paper as the springboard for my design, and just added a stamped and punched Daisy in colours to complement it. Even though Wisteria Wonder is not one of the colours listed on this paper, it still seemed to work really well for my base card.
Pretty and simple!

CCMC469 Pocketful of Sunshine Giftcard

It's Thursday, and that means it's Challenge time again over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com.
This week is a colour challenge, and these are the colours we had to work with:

It's called a colour CHALLENGE for a reason, right?!  For some reason, this colour combo gave me serious grief. I just couldn't get the balance right. In the end, I got sick of trying different things, and I had hundreds of stamped and rejected pieces on my desk, so I just put some together and went with it. Does that ever happen to you?

• The background is the Pinewood Plank Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. This folder is extra thick and gives a deeply etched impression. I 'swiped' my White inkpad over the raised design to make it really 'pop'
• I've used patterned paper from the Naturally Eclectic pack for the pocket and strip across the back. I love the 'faded denim' look of the pocket
• The whitewashed looking piece is from the Wood Textures 6"x6" Paper Stack
• This card doubles as a gift card holder, and the visa gift card slips into the pocket. It stuck out a little further than I liked, so I actually made it slide behind the whitewashed piece, and stuck the pocket over the top.
• There's lots of fun elements in the Pocketful of Sunshine stamp set, so you can give your pocket a custom-made look with stitching, tabs and decorations
• The Powder Pink Finely Woven ribbon was the perfect girly touch for my pocket. It ties so beautifully!

Daisy Blues

I think we've all had the Daisy Blues for the past month or so, while the Daisy punch and stamp set have been on backorder and then un-orderable. But the good news is, they are now back in stock and available to order!
I've been holding off showing you these projects, as I didn't want to induce any fits of rage or jealousy, but it's safe to show you now ;)
This one is my favourite:

I've just punched the Daisy from Whisper White cardstock, and then used a Blender Pen and Night of Navy ink to create the shading. To get this effect, start in the centre, where you want the colour to be darkest, and let the Blender Pen fade out as you get towards the edges. The punched daisy centre covers up all the mess in the middle.
This card is similar, but I've stamped the daisy before punching, and then sponged it:

The sentiments are from the Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set, and the paper is delightful...literally! It's the Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper. And how cute is the Double-stitched ribbon? I love that cross-stitching!
