Balloon Adventures Pop-up

It's been so lovely seeing everyone again in my classes this week. Stamp-a-Stack was our warm up, and next week we are stepping it up with some Special Cards. These are the type of cards you give to the special people in your life. We'll be making a pop-up card and a pop-up spinner card (I'll show you the spinner next time).
Here's the pop-up inside:

I'm a little bit in love with the Cupcakes and Carousels Paper Stack. I have to stop myself using it on every card I make!

High Tide Stamp-a-Stack

This is the other set of cards we are making in classes this week. The High Tide stamp set can make absolutely stunning coastal scenes really quickly and easily. The sentiments are really beautiful too.

I couldn't decide whether I liked Pacific Point or Island Indigo better on these cards, so I did a bit of both. I think they both work really well with Crushed Curry and Basic Grey.

I've brought in an old favourite Gorgeous Grunge for the background.

Avant Garden Stamp-a-Stack

My classes begin next week and we are kicking off with a Stamp-a-Stack. Of course we are playing with some new products. These cards have been made using the Avant Garden Sale-a-Bration set.
The designs are very simple, but I think that suits the style of this very pretty stamp set.
Sahara Sand makes a really pretty base card colour when paired with soft pastel shades. Here I've used So Saffron, Peekaboo Peach and Pear Pizzazz. The darker ink colour is Early Espresso.

Balloon Adventures Make-and-Take

This was the second make-and-take at my Open House. I'm always on the look out for versatile stamp sets that can be used for any age and gender. The Balloon Adventures stamp set is certainly one of those. If you make lots of birthday cards (who doesn't?), this is a great one to add to your collection. The bonus is that there are co-ordinating dies (including a pop-up element) and a punch.
I've made a 'boy' card with the colours Night of Navy, Pumpkin Pie and Smoky Slate. It would work equally as well with more girly colours though....I can just see a Flirty Flamingo spotty balloon!

Hey, Chick Make-and-Take

This is one of the cards that we made at my Open House on Sunday. It incorporates some of my favourite products from the Occasions Catalogue and Sale-a-Bration brochure. Of course the crazy-haired chicken is from the Hey, Chick stamp set. She has been watercoloured using the new Watercolour pencils.
I've also used the stunning new Hexagons Dynamic Embossing folder in the Occasions Catalogue. It reminds me a little of chicken wire when it's used this way :)
I also snuck in a stitched shape...because plain shapes are SO last year!
My colours are Watermelon Wonder, Bermuda Bay and a dash of Peekaboo Peach.

Tasty Cupcake Truck

How cute is this little "tasty truck"? You can turn it into an ice-cream van, a taco truck, hot dog truck, or anything at all really. I've made mine a cupcake van. Do they have those? If not, they definitely should!! I also have plans to make a balloon van...stay tuned for that!
You don't need a lot of supplies to make this card - I've used my favourite Cupcakes and Carousels Designer Series Paper (but you could easily substitute your favourite), the new Watercolour pencils and a Blender pen. I've also added a piece of the stunning ribbon from the Cupcakes and Carousels Embellishment kit.

Here's a handy all-in-one-place pic of all the Sale-a-Bration items. All are free with a $90 purchase:

Sending Love with Beautiful You

I've seen a few beautiful cards around made with the Paper Piecing technique and the Beautiful You stamp set, and I just had to try it for myself. Paper Piecing is a simple technique where you stamp an image twice - once on plain cardstock and once on patterned paper. You then cut around the patterned paper image and stick it on top of the plain image. Voila, coloured images with no colouring involved!
I used the Sending Love Designer Series paper for my images. I love the splash of red and white. I had to make 3 cards of course, since there are 3 images in the set:

Here are all 3 together:

I think I like the lady with the hat best...which one is your favourite?
