What I Love in Faux Silk

It's Technique Class week this week! We're having fun with tissue paper this week, and the Faux Silk Technique. The inspiration for this card came from the lovely Julie. Julie is a UK Demo that I have had the pleasure of meeting (and even singing karaoke with!) on the Stampin' Up! Incentive Trips. Make sure you check out her blog and all her beautiful creations.
I've used the gorgeous What I Love Sale-a-Bration set on this card, and the colour combo of Bermuda Bay, Pool Party and Old Olive. I couldn't decide which ribbon worked best on this card....so I used them both!

Little Easter Birdhouse

I wanted to make a little birdhouse as one of my Easter projects this year, and I thought the Curvy Keepsake box would make a cute little birdhouse. Rather than re-inventing the wheel (or the birdhouse!), in my internet travels (thanks, Pinterest), I came across this one by the very clever Jessica Winter in Austria and used it as my inspiration.
It holds a little cello bag of Easter Eggs...that have so far remained uneaten! We'll be making this little birdhouse in my upcoming Project Class.

Friends and Flowers Easter Tag

I always like to have a few cute Easter tags on hand, ready to attach to an Easter gift. When I saw the tag on page 46, I knew I had to make my own version.
I've attached mine to a Polka Dot Cellophane Cone, filled with some candy-coated Easter Eggs.

Honeycomb Happiness Easter Chick

Easter is pretty early this year, so I thought I'd better get cracking (eggs...cracking...geddit?! haha I'm 'cracking' myself up...ok I'll stop now!) on some Easter designs.
We'll be making this card in my Easter classes in a couple of weeks, along with a couple of cute gift-giving ideas.
You don't always need Easter-specific products to make Easter projects. The little chick from the Honeycomb Happiness stamp set makes a cute Easter chickie. The soft colours of the Birthday Bouquet DSP work really well for Easter, and I pulled out an oldie-but-a-goodie all occasion sentiment set for the greeting.
A spot of watercolouring, and you have a cute Easter card.

Botanicals for You Stamp-a-Stack

This is the other design we are making in next week's class. We're using another fantastic Sale-a-Bration item - the Botanicals for You stamp set. This one's been a favourite of mine. The bold statement makes super-quick cards and tags that can be used for any occasion.
I've taken my colour inspiration from the Botanical Gardens Designer Series Paper.
