Kintsugi Inspirations Card Set

In honour of the Suite Sale, I will be showcasing a different suite every week this month! This week was the New Kintsugi Inspirations Suite. Have you heard of Kintsugi? It's the centuries-old Japanese technique of mending treasured objects with lacquer and gold. Now, you can embrace the beauty of this ancient art using stamps, dies and paper with the Kintsugi Inspirations Suite Collection! It features ceramic and fracture designs, patterned paper with gold foil detail, and gold embellishments.

It was fun to step out of my comfort zone using this Suite. I haven't used anything quite like this before. I cut out a bunch of pretty vases and bowls from the patterned paper, and then played around with some background patterns to suit my selections. I used the Spotlight on Nature dies to frame my vases (love these dies!). The sentiments are from the Beautiful Motifs stamp set. To echo the touches of gold in the background paper and in the vase and bowl, I embellished with some of the new gold Flower Accents.

Kintsugi Note

In honour of the Suite Sale, I will be showcasing a different suite every week this month! This week is the New Kintsugi Inspirations Suite.

For this card I cut out a vase, a bowl and a flower from the patterned paper, and then layered them on a Spotlight on Nature die circle.  I made a background pattern in exactly the colours I wanted by colouring it with Blends to complement my bowls. I used Lost Lagoon, Petal Pink and Ivory (since there is no Basic Beige Blend). The sentiment is from the Beautiful Motifs stamp set. To echo the touches of gold in the background paper and in the vase and bowl, I embellished with some of the new gold Flower Accents.

I used Lost Lagoon for my card base - love this shade of bluey-green. This was a fun card to make!

Celebrate Kintsugi

In honour of the Suite Sale, I will be showcasing a different suite every week this month! This week is the New Kintsugi Inspirations Suite.

For this card I cut out 3 bowls from the patterned paper, and then stacked them, by cutting a small slit in the rim of the lower 2.  I chose two background patterns to complement my bowls. I used the Spotlight on Nature dies to frame my stack of bowls (love these dies!). The sentiment is from the Beautiful Motifs stamp set. To echo the touches of gold in the background paper and in the vase and bowl, I embellished with some of the new gold Flower Accents.

I used Petal Pink for my card base - it's such a soft and pretty colour! I'll be back with more Kintsugi Inspiration soon.

Lovely Garden Card Set

In honour of the Suite Sale, I will be showcasing a different suite every week this month! This week was the Online Exclusive Lovely Garden Suite. For this set of cards I've mainly used the Lovely Garden DSP, and fussy-cut the flowers. I chose some black and white patterns for the backgrounds, and also some Garden Green for contrast and to tie in with the leaves.

To frame my flowers, I've used the Everyday Arches (another Online Exclusive, and part of the Everyday Skies Suite). I used the Simply Said stamp set for the sentiment, and embellished with some Brass Butterflies and Dragonflies.

I hope you like my Lovely Garden cards. They were lots of fun to make, and I still have some DSP left to make some more!

Lovely Garden Thanks

In honour of the Suite Sale, I will be showcasing a different suite every week this month! First up is the Online Exclusive Lovely Garden Suite. Today I've mainly used the Lovely Garden DSP, and fussy-cut some pink flowers. I chose a black and white pattern for the background, and also some Garden Green for contrast and to tie in with the leaves. I also used a piece of Strawberry Slush ribbon, but coloured in with Melon Mambo Blends to tie in better with the flowers.

To frame my flowers, I've used the Everyday Arches (another Online Exclusive, and part of the Everyday Skies Suite). I trimmed the pink flowers down to fill the arch shape. I used the Simply Said stamp set for the sentiment, and embellished with some Brass Butterflies.
