Balloon Celebration Watercolour Lift

I recently had a play with the Watercolour Lifting technique. I’m not sure who “invented” this technique, but I first stumbled across it here: http://www.jennifermcguireink.com/2016/02/watercolor-lifting.html.
All you need is ink, watercolour paper and clear embossing powder.
First, spritz watercolour paper with water and allow to soak in. Create a watercolour wash background (you can use ink, markers or stamps). Use an aquapainter to blend, making sure it has lots of depth of colour (you might need to repeat this step to make it darker). Allow to dry thoroughly, then stamp images in Versamark ink and sprinkle over clear embossing powder. Heat set. Use an aquapainter/wet paintbrush to ‘lift’ the ink from the watercolour paper. The embossed areas will resist the water, and the background will lighten. A babywipe can help to remove excess wetness. Allow to dry.
So much fun! I'll be showing some more examples using this technique next time.
