Faux Silk Christmas Dove

At our monthly Team Meetings, we always explore a stamping technique. For some, it's a chance to learn something new, and for others, it's a chance to revisit a technique that they may not have played with for a while.

Last month, it was the "Faux Silk" Technique - a simple technique that doesn't require any fancy supplies, so it's perfect for beginner stampers too. You stamp on tissue paper to get the effect of crushed silk. Here's the card I demonstrated:

I've used the gorgeous Calm Christmas stamp set in Island Indigo, and Festive Flurry snowflakes in Pool Party.

Here's some step by step instructions, in case you'd like to try this for yourself:
1. Stamp an image onto tissue paper. You can stamp an outline and gently watercolour it, or stamp a bold image.
2. Scrunch your stamped tissue paper into a ball, and then gently open it up again (be careful not to tear it)
3. Use a glue stick to completely cover a piece of cardstock slightly smaller than your piece of tissue paper.
4. Attach the tissue paper to the cardstock, and tuck the edges and corners under neatly.
