Gnome for Christmas

I've been having fun colouring in these cute gnomes (from Gnome for the Holidays) and popping them on some simple cards. They are just so cute!

I used the 'Tis the Season Designer Series Paper for these ones, but I definitely want to try some other papers and colour schemes too...stay tuned for more gnomes at a later date!

Thanks for stopping by.

CCMC640 Celebrate the Season

It's Thursday, and that means it's Challenge time again over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com. This week is a colour challenge, and these are the colours we had to work with:

I went straight to the Trimming the Town Designer Series Paper for this card. I had fun snipping out some of the cute images, and building a scene.

I don't use Poppy Parade very often - I tend to gravitate towards the deeper reds like Cherry Cobbler and Real Red. But I really like the brightness it brings to the Misty Moonlight/Old Olive combination.

The sentiment is from Itty Bitty Christmas - one of my most used sentiment sets.

I hope you like my card! Check out what the other talented stampers have come up with HERE. Don't forget you can play along over on the facebook page

Just So Fabulous

I made a few of these cards, in a few different colours for some high achievers in my team. It's been a difficult year, so it was fun to spoil them with with some Stampin' Up! goodies and a pretty card.

I used one of my favourite stamp sets - Beautiful Friendship, along with some other favourite products on this card - Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon and Elegant Faceted Gems.

CCMC639 Poinsettia Place Christmas

It's Thursday, and that means it's Challenge time again over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com.
This week is a sketch challenge, and this is the sketch we had to work with:

I keep coming back to the Poinsettia Place Designer Series Paper. It's definitely my favourite of this year's Christmas Papers. I love all the soft shades of greens and browns in it. I'm planning on using it for my own Christmas cards this year...which I really need to get cracking on!!

For this card, the only thing I've stamped is the sentiment (from the Best Year stamp set)

Apart from the fussy cutting, this was a really quick card to put together. Just as well I enjoy cutting things out! I gave the Poinsettia some extra depth by cutting out an extra centre and popping it up on dimensionals.

I added a few finishing touches to take this card to the next level - I used my Wink of Stella to give the petals a subtle shimmer, I used Shimmery Crystal Effects on the stamens, and added a few of my fave Elegant Faceted Gems too.

I hope you like my card. Check out what the other talented stampers have come up with HERE. Don't forget you can play along over on the facebook page!

Retro Thanks

When I saw the Ornate Garden Designer Series Paper, I knew that I had to make a card using this particular sheet. It reminds me of a dress I used to love wearing when I was growing up in the 70's....I think our kitchen also had a similar colour scheme, with olive green bench tops, Mission Brown veneer cabinets and mustard yellow slimline venetian blinds! I'm sure it was very 'in' at the time!! I cut my piece into 3 panels, just to break up the very busy pattern a bit.

I use this sentiment stamp a lot - it comes from the Looking Up card kit, and it fits beautifully in the Label Me Fancy Punch. The font has a bit of a retro feel too. Finally, I just added a few Gold Glitter Enamel Dots to finish it off.

November Blog Hop

Welcome to another Stampers Anonymous Team Blog Hop! This month we have a Sketch Challenge. You can make the complete circuit and see all the lovely creations by following the links at the end of each post.

Here is my take on the sketch:

I've had fun using the All Things Fabulous Bundle with this sketch. My colour combo is Seaside Spray, Misty Moonlight and Mint Macaron. For some reason the Seaside Spray is looking a little Balmy Blue on my screen, but trust me, it's definitely Seaside Spray! Either way, these colours are very 'me'.

I hope you like my card. You can see all the other items I used listed below.

Well, that’s all from me. Thanks for stopping by! Click on the button below to move to the next stop:

CCMC638 A Cocktails Kind of Day

It's Thursday, and that means it's Challenge time again over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com. This week is a colour challenge, and these are the colours we had to work with:

I can't seem to stop playing with the Nothing's Better Than bundle. Hopefully you aren't sick of it yet!!

These colours just said cocktails to me, so I went with it. The retro feel of this colour combination works well with this set too. I used a Blender Pen and ink to colour the image, and then applied a coat of Shimmery Crystal Effects to make it glossy.

I echoed the shading of the drink with 3 strips of cardstock that I stamped with the little star stamp.

I hope you like my card! Check out what the other talented stampers have come up with HERE. Don't forget you can play along over on the facebook page
