Cow's it Going?

I have a giant dose of cute to show you today. How adorable is this cow, with his dashing haircut? I had fun colouring this little guy in and cutting him out. Then, I gave him a watercolour wash background in Crumb Cake to make him stand out a little more. The Over the Moon stamp set has 3 cute cows in it; before too long, you'll see all 3 on here!

I can't take credit for the clever idea of using the splotch from Love What You Do as a cow-print background. I've seen a few of them floating around on Pinterest, and I'm not sure who the originator was. I love the effect!

I think Terracotta Tile, Black and White is a great 'farm' combo...what do you think?

CCMC571 Very Versailles

It's Thursday, and that means it's Challenge time again over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com.
This is our last week of CaSEing the Catalogue. This is our project for Week 4:

I was inspired by the layout this week - the torn edge, the Nested Labels Dies and the long strip.
Here are a few details about my card:
  • I used the new Very Versailles stamp set for my card. My colour scheme is Seaside Spray, Sahara Sand and Night of Navy.
  • The background piece is from the Woven Threads Designer Series Paper, and I stamped the right hand side with the script from Very Versailles
  • I cut out 2 Nested Labels - one in Seaside Spray and one in Vellum. I stamped the Seaside Spray one with the leaves from Very Versailles
  • I stamped the sentiment from Very Versailles in Versamark and embossed with Whisper White powder. I then cut it out with the smallest Stitched Shapes Oval
  • That gorgeous strip of ribbon is the Sahara Sand Woven Threads Trim
  • I've used some Silver Metallic Thread and also some Metallic Pearls for embellishment
I hope you like my card. Check out what the other talented stampers have come up with HERE. Don't forget you can play along over on the facebook page!

Hot Air Balloon Flowerpots

It's been a while since I did any Punch Art, but when I saw the Hot Air Balloon Punch, I could see a flowerpot in the balloon basket. All I needed was some leaves and flowers (thanks, Vases Builder Punch!) and voila, little potted tulips. I made them in the 5 new In Colors - Terracotta Tile is the perfect pot colour, and my tulips are Purple Posy, Pretty Peacock, Rococo Rose and Seaside Spray. I used Mint Macaron for the leaves.

This was a fun card to make! Thanks for stopping by!

My Incentive Trip Swap Card

One of the fun parts of every Incentive Trip is swapping. For our recent Greek Isles Cruise, I made 26 of these cards and exchanged them for 25 brand new ideas from Top Demonstrators all over the world. Stampin' Up! kept one of each card and put them on display boards so that we could view and take photos of them all. So much amazing inspiration!

I tried to make a card that was 'me'. I used Seaside Spray, my favourite colour of the moment, and gave it a crisp fresh feel with lots of white and a just a dash of Crumb Cake. What do you think? Is it me?

CCMC570 Dinoroar

It's Thursday, and that means it's Challenge time again over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com.
We are CaSEing the Catalogue all month! Each week there will be a picture from the new Annual Catalogue, and we can be inspired by either the stamp set, layout or the colours. This is our project for Week 3:

I've been dying to play with the Dinoroar Suite, and I decided this was the perfect Challenge to do just that.

Here are a few details about my card:
  • I snipped this little T-Rex from the Dinoroar Designer Series Paper. I also used the paper for the panel behind the main image. My colour scheme is taken from the paper too - Pretty Peacock, Old Olive and Lovely Lipstick.
  • I gave my dinosaur a party hat, stamped from the Broadway Birthday stamp set
  • The Happy Birthday sentiment is one of the stamps in the Looking Up Card Kit.
  • The Eyelet Lace embossing folder doesn't seem like the obvious choice for the background, but I think it works. I just embossed the right hand side.
  • I used a piece of Lovely Lipstick Grosgrain Ribbon for embellishment
I hope you like my card. Check out what the other talented stampers have come up with HERE. Don't forget you can play along over on the facebook page!

Birds and Blossoms

I'm hoping you're not sick of these birdies yet! I certainly am not, so this won't be the last you see of them.
This time we have the delightful colour combination of Pool Party and Petal Pink... so pretty! That blossom pattern from the Bird Ballad DSP is just gorgeous, and I let it dictate the feel of this card. I stamped the birds in Memento ink and coloured with Blends. I decided on just a trio of birds for this card. They fit really nicely across the Nested Label.
I gave the Pool Party cardstock the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder treatment. It always adds a little something extra to a card.
The Linen thread has been tied in a knot, along with a piece of the pretty Scalloped Lace Trim. It's the perfect feminine touch.
Thanks for visiting today!

Above the Clouds Easel Card

I really enjoyed making this card! It combines a few of my favourite things - Seaside Spray, gingham and banners. Add a hot air balloon, some sparkly embossing paste and an Easel card and this is what you get:

All those banners have been punched with the Triple Banner Punch, from the In Color Designer Series Paper. And those raised, sparkly clouds just make you want to touch them! I decided on a
Grapefruit Grove hot air balloon, but added a Seaside Spray heart to tie it back in with the rest of the card. I decided to make this an Easel card. I popped the sentiment on the Pretty Label Punch, raised with Dimensionals so that it holds the easel in place.

Thanks for stopping by!
