CCMC509 Rose Wonder Watercolour
It's Thursday, and that means it's Challenge time again over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com.
This week is a colour challenge, and these are the colours we had to work with:
This is such a pretty colour combination. I decided to pull out an old favourite stamp set of mine that we are saying goodbye to - Rose Wonder. This rose image is just stunning, and is a delight to watercolour. The set also contains some lovely sentiments, and I pull those out all the time.
Flirty Flamingo is one of the 2016-18 In Colors, which means it should be leaving us this year. Happily though, it is making a comeback as one of our Core Colours in the new Annual Catalogue. Sahara Sand and Pear Pizzazz are also staying with us.
I've used the Wet Watercolour technique to colour this beautiful rose. First I embossed the image using White embossing powder on Watercolour paper. Then, I thoroughly wet the paper with water. I used an aquapainter to pick up some colour from an ink refill palette and then lightly touched the colour to the wet areas, allowing it to fill the empty spaces. The end result is so soft and pretty.
I hope you like my card. Check out what the other talented stampers have come up with HERE. Don't forget you can play along over on the facebook page!
