Christmas in July

I love Christmas, so I'm very excited to be starting Christmas Stamp-a-Stack Classes this month. This is one of the cards we are making, using some products on the Carrypover Christmas Flyer (items available until August 27, 2014):

I've used elegant Very Vanilla, with just a pop of colour - Lost Lagoon, Mossy Meadow and Blackberry Bliss (all new In Colours). I've embossed the lower two-thirds of the cardstock using various Embossing Folders, and tied some seam binding ribbon around the join.
This would be an easy design to mass-produce if you have lots of cards to make!

Ombre Hearts

Once I started using the Decorative masks, it was hard to stop. I used the Heart stencil on this card, and I've given it an ombre look by stamping lighter pink (Pink Pirouette) at the top, a medium shade in the middle (Blushing Bride) and darker at the bottom (Strawberry Slush). It was really quick to create this pretty effect. A couple of strips of DSP, a half doily and a punched sentiment was all that was needed to finish off this card.

Giant Craft Sale!

I've been busy putting prices on all my pre-loved, now retired Stampin' Up! supplies....and they are definitely priced to sell. I have stamp sets as low as $5, plus paper, inkpads, punches, ribbons, Big Shot Dies and more. I'm hoping that I won't have to bring any of it back home!!
Hope to see you on Saturday morning!

Sparkling Stars

I've been having fun playing with the Decorative Masks. They are brand new to the catalogue (you can find them on page 205). The best news is that they are only $4.95....and you get 2 designs in the pack! I've used the stars one on this card. You can sponge or spritz the colour onto the stencil. Here I've sponged Versamark ink and then heat embossed with Iridescent Ice embossing powder.
Iridescent Ice is clear embossing powder with glitter added to it, so you get a nice shine and some sparkle too.
I've kept the rest of the card pretty simple, with just some layering of punched shapes, because I didn't want to cover up too many of the sparkling stars!
I hope you have a lovely weekend, whatever you may be doing.

Stained Glass Sparkle Technique

This is the second card we're making in this week's Technique Classes:

I'm not sure of the proper name for this technique. I call it "Stained Glass Sparkle"... it involves Window Sheets, glitter and Crystal Effects. You can use ink refills to colour your Crystal Effects, but I've taken a short-cut and used Blendabilities straight onto the window sheet instead.
Here's a closer look at the sparkle:

The Crystal Effects takes a little while to dry, but it's worth the wait!

Glitter Window Technique

We are playing with glitter in my Technique Classes this week. I have a couple of vacancies in the class on Thursday morning and also on Thursday evening if you live locally to me and would like to attend!
This is one of the cards we'll be making:

And here's a close-up look at the sparkle:

It's super-sparkly in real life.....and everyone needs a little sparkle in their life!
