Still Got the Blues

So here is my set of 3 Sun Prints cards. I think I'll be playing with this Designer Series Paper in the not-too-distant future, and the Nature's Prints Bundle too.

Sun Prints

Have you heard of cyanotype? Cyanotype is a slow-reacting photographic printing process that produces blue prints using coated paper and light - a sun print! Hence the name of this paper. As you can tell, I'm loving the blue-toned hues in this paper, but I am also looking forward to using the Gray Granite side to make some elegant neutral cards.

This was a simple card to make, using the Sun Prints Suite. I love this maidenhair fern image. I stamped in Night of Navy and used a Blender Pen to blend the colour on the leaves for a watercolour look. This sentiment (in its gorgeous font) fits perfectly in this die-cut shape from the Natural Prints dies. Very handy that there's a die to cut out the fern too!

June Blog Hop

Welcome to another Stampers Anonymous Team Blog Hop! This month we have a Sketch Challenge. You can make the complete circuit and see all the gorgeous creations by following the links at the end of each post.

I decided on the beautiful Sun Prints Suite for this sketch. I think I've made use of just about everything in the suite with my card:

It's hard to go wrong with a classic colour scheme of Night of Navy and White. I embossed my background using the Fern 3D embossing folder, but before I embossed the pattern I stamped an ink splatter from the Nature's Prints stamp set. The 2 banners are from the Sun Prints Designer Series paper, plus I snuck a little strip of paper along the left-hand side and I also die-cut the stems from the same paper. I used the Stylish Shapes dies for a Stitched Circle shape. 

The sentiment is also from Nature's Prints (love, love, LOVE this font!), and I've used a few Iridescent Rhinestones for some sparkle.

Sending Wishes

I thought This pattern from the Sun Prints Designer Series Paper works particularly well with the Sending Birthday Wishes sentiment from the Sending Smiles Bundle.

This card was really quick to pull together. A few tips - my vellum strip is folded at each end and stuck behind the patterned paper panel, to hide the adhesive (I also popped a little bit of glue under the words, where it wouldn't be seen). I've also added some sparkle to the DSP with Wink of Stella on the dandelions and some Iridescent Rhinestones.

Flowering Fields Set

So here is my set of 3 Flowering Fields cards. I had fun playing with this Designer Series Paper, and these cards were very quick and easy to put together. 

This paper is on sale this month for $14, but only until June 30, or while stocks last.

Flowering Tulips in Poppy Parade

And here is the final Flowering Fields card I made, in Poppy Parade.  It's a colour I don't use very often, but I really like it with the other softer pinks. Designer Series Paper is great for stepping you out of your colour comfort zone.

I used another sentiment from the new Lovely & Lasting bundle. I stamped it on the Label Me Fancy punch, and framed it with the Lasting Label punch.

I finished the card off with some Glittered Organdy ribbon and Iridescent Rhinestones. I'll show you all three cards next time.
