Crisp Cantaloupe Begonias


This week I'm sharing some cards that I made using the July Product of the Month. I couldn't resist adding the Begonia Belle stamp set to my last order. I'm a sucker for a pretty flower! These 2-step stamped begonias and leaves are just stunning. 

I decided to stamp my flowers in this year's In Colors and pair them with the Gingham Gallery Designer Series Paper. This is Crisp Cantaloupe and Peaceful Pine. In the background is the Floral Spray 3D Embossing Folder. I embellished the card with a few Iridescent Pearls.

Birthday Boys


I needed to make 3 cards for some special boys' birthdays that are happening this week - an 11 year old, a 15 year old and one who is... a little bit older! Here are the 3 cards I made. To streamline the process, I stuck with the same design for all three, and just switched out the pattern, colours and focal image. 

The patterned paper is a Sneak Peek from the Sept-Dec Catalogue, called Painted Patch. I've embellished them with a few Wonderful Stars Puffy Stickers. The sentiments are from the Banner Sayings Bundle.

Happy 11th Birthday!


I needed to make 3 cards for some special boys' birthdays that are happening this week - an 11 year old, a 15 year old and one who is... a little bit older! This is the 11 one... can you believe my nephew Miles is 11?! He's a big fan of dogs, as you can probably tell from this card! 

The patterned paper is a Sneak Peek from the Sept-Dec Catalogue, called Painted Patch. I've embellished with a few Wonderful Stars Puffy Stickers. The sentiment is from the Banner Sayings Bundle.

Hello Hot Foil!








Have you seen Stampin' Up!'s new Hot Foil System? It's been all over the internet since it was released a few weeks ago. I've bought the system and I've been having lots of fun turning everything shiny! I'll be sharing some of my projects soon!

What is hot foiling? Hot foiling is a technique that uses heat and pressure to transfer metallic or coloured foil onto paper, cardstock, and more. The result is a shiny, professional-looking finish, similar to what you see on luxury stationery or packaging. You can experiment foiling on different materials to see what shines. 

What tools do I need for hot foiling? You’ll need: Stampin’ Hot Foil System; Specially-made hot foil dies (IMPORTANT NOTE: Cutting dies are not designed to be used with hot foiling, and you cannot die cut using foiling dies); Stampin’ Hot Foil Rolls; Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine (NOTE: the platform will not fit in the old Big Shot Machine)

What kind of foil should I use? Use Stampin’ Hot Foil Rolls, which are specifically made for the Stampin’ Hot Foil System. 

What materials can be hot foiled? Hot foiling works best on: Two-Tone Cardstock; Smooth cardstock (Basic White cardstock works great!; Stampin’ Up! vellum; Designer Series Paper; Window Sheets; Pearlized Specialty Paper. Always test small samples first. Porous or textured papers can yield inconsistent results. 

How does hot foiling differ from heat embossing? While both techniques are high on “wow” factor, the hot foil finish is smoother and shinier, where heat embossing is slightly raised.
