Washi Tape Card Set

Here are my set of Washi Tape Shoebox Cards that we made at Stamp Camp last weekend. At my Craft Retreat I have 10 volunteers each make a card-in-a-box, where all the ingredients for making a card are included in each box, including pre-cut cardstock. It's great to be able to sit down and make 10 cards without having to think/plan/design. 

For these cards, I used Extraordinary Flora, Greenery Lane, and Summer Happiness Washi Tape as the focal image. To create these cards, simply apply your choice of Washi Tape to a piece of Basic White cardstock. Then, cut an Arch shape using the Everyday Arches dies. Emboss a pattern with your desired embossing folder. Wrap with Linen Thread and tie in a bow. Layer onto a vellum arch shape with dimensionals. Stamp your desired sentiment onto Basic White circle using Gray Granite ink (mine are from Scalloped Blooms). Layer onto  cardstock, and then onto A5 Basic White card base. Embellish with 3 Antique Pearls. Et voilà!!

NEW Hot Foil Products

What is hot foiling? Hot foiling is a technique that uses heat and pressure to transfer metallic or coloured foil onto paper, cardstock, and more. The result is a shiny, professional-looking finish, similar to what you see on luxury stationery or packaging. You can experiment foiling on different materials to see what shines. 

What tools do I need for hot foiling? You’ll need: Stampin’ Hot Foil System; Specially-made hot foil dies (IMPORTANT NOTE: Cutting dies are not designed to be used with hot foiling, and you cannot die cut using foiling dies); Stampin’ Hot Foil Rolls; Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine (NOTE: the platform will not fit in the old Big Shot Machine)

What kind of foil should I use? Use Stampin’ Hot Foil Rolls, which are specifically made for the Stampin’ Hot Foil System. 

What materials can be hot foiled? Hot foiling works best on: Two-Tone Cardstock; Smooth cardstock (Basic White cardstock works great!; Stampin’ Up! vellum; Designer Series Paper; Window Sheets; Pearlized Specialty Paper. Always test small samples first. Porous or textured papers can yield inconsistent results. 

How does hot foiling differ from heat embossing? While both techniques are high on “wow” factor, the hot foil finish is smoother and shinier, where heat embossing is slightly raised.

Summer Happiness

Stamp your desired sentiment onto Basic White circle using Gray Granite ink (mine is from Scalloped Blooms). Layer onto Lemon Lolly cardstock, and then onto A5 Basic White card base. Embellish with 3 Antique Pearls. Et voilà!!

Greenery Lane Birthday

Last weekend was my Annual Stamp Camp Craft Retreat. 3 days and nights of non-stop crafting and chatting, lots of laughing and NO cooking or cleaning...bliss! As usual, we had Shoebox Cards that we made at Stamp Camp. They are a staple at my Craft Retreat. I have 10 volunteers each make a card-in-a-box, where all the ingredients for making a card are included in each box, including pre-cut cardstock. It's great to be able to sit down and make 10 cards without having to think/plan/design. 

This one was one of mine - super simple, using Washi Tape as the focal image. To create this card, simply apply your choice of Washi Tape to a piece of Basic White cardstock (this is Greenery Lane). Then, cut an Arch shape using the Everyday Arches dies. Emboss a pattern with your desired embossing folder. Wrap with Linen Thread and tie in a bow. Layer onto a vellum arch shape with dimensionals. Stamp your desired sentiment onto Basic White circle using Gray Granite ink (mine is from Scalloped Blooms). Layer onto Basic Beige cardstock, and then onto A5 Basic White card base. Embellish with 3 Antique Pearls. Et voilà!!
