Friends of the Ocean

At first I wasn't sure about the Friends of the Ocean Suite on pages 30-31 of the Mini Catalogue, but something was drawing me to it. So, I started off gently by just purchasing the DSP (closely followed by the Soft Waves Embossing Folder and the Sunny Day Iridescent Dots! No willpower, me!). 

For this card, I cut out a lobster from the DSP to feature on my card, and chose a couple of DSP patterns to co-ordinate with it. I wanted a big, bold sentiment so I chose the new With You in Mind on page 18 of the Mini Catalogue. I stamped it on a tag shape from the Something Fancy Dies. There are lots of different shapes and sizes in this set, so it works with lots of different stamp sets. To finish off, I used a few Sunny Days Iridescent Dots and some white twine.

Did you notice the "Colour Buddies" on page 32 of the Mini? The buddies are different shades of the same hue. Using the two together guarantees a perfect pairing. In this case, my lobster was Calypso Coral, so I chose Petal Pink for my card base. I think it works really well!
