CCMC601 Forever Blossoms

It's Thursday, and that means it's Challenge time again over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com. This week is a colour challenge, and these are the colours we had to work with:

Initially I really struggled with these colours, but in the end I love the result....isn't that often the way?  I was tossing up between many different stamp sets for these colours and finally settled on Forever Blossoms. I coloured the flowers with my Blends and cut them out.

I used the Parisian Flourish embossing folder (again!) in the background. Love, love, love it! I think the little detail of trimming the base of the sentiment with Purple Posy Linen ribbon is one of my favourite things about this card. I also added a tiny twine bow, and adhered it with a glue dot.

I hope you like my card! Check out what the other talented stampers have come up with HERE. Don't forget you can play along over on the facebook page

Taco 'bout Awesome!

It's always awesome when new people join my team, and during Sale-a-Bration, there's always an influx, thanks to the great joining offer.

So, I made up a batch of these cute cards to mail out to some lovely new Demonstrators. I was making quite a few, so I kept it pretty simple, and the Witty-Cisms stamp set came in handy again. Hopefully it brightened up their mailbox and their day!

You can see the supplies I used listed below. Contact me if you have any questions about this card, or about joining Stampin' Up!

Best Dressed Umbrellas

I love collective nouns...a parliament of owls, a charm of finches, a shrewdness of apes, a clowder of cats...I could go on! This made me wonder if there was a term for a group of umbrellas. Google turned up a 'phalanx' of umbrellas. Hmmmm.... not too sure I like that one. A bevy of brollies, perhaps?

Anyway, I have some Under my Umbrella cards to show you today. I couldn't decide on my favourite colour scheme, so I made a few different ones. I used some patterns from the Best Dressed DSP. I also popped a different sentiment on each circle.

Now that brings me to the collective noun for a group of cards...a Celebration of Cards, perhaps? Any other suggestions?

CCMC600 Special Someone

It's Thursday, and that means it's Challenge time again over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com.
This week is a sketch challenge, and this is the sketch we had to work with:

I couldn't resist pulling out my Special Someone stamp set for this sketch. These guys are so cute! I think that little raccoon is just chuffed that his friends have surprised him with balloons and flowers. I've fussy cut them, but now there are dies available as part of the Co-ordination Product Release

You wouldn't thin k a golf-themed DSP would work for this card, but the Country Club papers are not just for golfers! I've also used the new Stitched So Sweetly Dies. These have been getting a LOT of use in my craft room.

This was a really fun card to make! I hope you like it. Check out what the other talented stampers have come up with HERE. Don't forget you can play along over on the facebook page!

Thank you Berry Much

I whipped up a batch of these thank you cards in no time at all! The Witty-Cisms stamp set is so cute and it partners really well with the Label me Lovely punch. I coloured my strawberries with Blends and then added a coat of Shimmery Crystal Effects to gloss them up. They look good enough to eat!

You can see all the supplies I used to make this card listed below. Thanks for visiting!

More Purple Poppies

This card is a direct CaSE from the front cover of the Mini Catalogue. I just changed a few things to make it my own. I think my favourite part is the background - I swiped a Whisper White ink pad over the Sahara Sand cardstock, after I'd embosssed it with the Parisian Flourish Embossing Folder. It really brings out the beautiful design, but still looks soft and subtle.
The Painted Poppies bundle is cementing itself as a firm favourite. I think it looks gorgeous in any colour!

February Blog Hop

Welcome to another Stampers Anonymous Team Blog Hop!
For February we have a Colour Challenge. You can make the complete circuit and see all the lovely creations by following the links at the end of each post.

Here is what I made with these 3 pretty colours:

I also added Basic Grey as a neutral. I've used one of our beautiful Sale-a-Bration offerings - this one is a stamp set and embossing folder bundle. It's a Level 2 reward - you can get this bundle for free with a $180 spend. It's called "Power of Hope" and it has beautiful Japanese inspired images.

I was inspired by a card in the Sale-a-Bration brochure. I stamped my images and then painted a watercolour wash over them using ink and an aquapainter. This gave my scene the soft look I was after.

The co-ordinating embossing folder has a stone path texture, which works really well with these images. I can see me using this one a lot with lots of other images too. I've used the Whisper White crinkled seam binding ribbon (again!!). Seriously, this is the most versatile ribbon ever. You need to add it to your stash!

Well, that’s it from me. Thanks for stopping by! Click on the button below to move to the next stop:

CCMC599 Painted Poppies

It's Thursday, and that means it's Challenge time again over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com. This week is a colour challenge, and these are the colours we had to work with:

I think you could safely say that none of these are my go-to colours! So, I used one of my favourite tricks and downplayed them by leaving a lot of white space. I also softened the Real Red and Flirty Flamingo by watercolouring with them. I coloured these flowers from Painted Poppies using Blends. The leaves and ink spatter are also from the same set. The sentiment is from my favourite Peaceful Moments set.

That fun swirl is from the co-ordinating dies, Painted Labels. You can purchase these as the Painted Poppies bundle, and save 10%.

I hope you like my card! Check out what the other talented stampers have come up with HERE. Don't forget you can play along over on the facebook page

More Tropical Terracotta

I hope you aren't sick of seeing this hisiscus and frangipani yet! They're lots of fun to colour and I think I got a bit carried away! I used Terracotta Tile again too. I like the rustic feel of it with these images.
I'll have to use the palm trees and pineapple from the Timeless Tropical set next...they could use a little love.
