Paper Pumpkin Coming Soon!

Have you heard? Paper Pumpkin is coming to Australia! In the US, it is a subscription service, where a new kit is delivered to your door every month. Although we aren't getting the subscription, we do have a chance to join in the fun with a one-off kit in May. Shelli Gardner, board chair and cofounder of Stampin’ Up!, has partnered with Paper Pumpkin to create a limited edition, nature-focused, Shelli-inspired kit.  
The look and feel of this kit is all Shelli. It’s elegant and feminine, and full of beautiful natural details. And the box it comes in? There's no way that's going in the recycling bin!

CCMC558 Flowering Desert

It's Thursday, and that means it's Challenge time again over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com.
This week is a sketch challenge, and this is the sketch we had to work with:

This was a fun card to make, and I don't think I have ever made a card with a cactus on it before! The Flowering Desert stamp set has lots of succulent images, and stamps with a soft, water-coloured look. My colour combination is Mint Macaron, Old Olive, Shaded Spruce and So Saffron.

 

I used the Dot to Dot embossing folder for my background. Both the embossing folder and the stamp set I've used here are retiring, and won't be in our new Annual Catalogue, so grab them while you can!

MAY CLASSES

Stamp-a-Stack Class - Piece of Cake and Bloom by Bloom

Come along and stamp a stack of cards, so you'll always have a card ready when you need one. We'll be using products from the Occasions Catalogue and current Annual Catalogue.

This month's cards feature the Piece of Cake bundle, and the gorgeous Bloom by Bloom stamp set. This year we are 'stepping up' our cards - we will be featuring more DSP and embellishments, decorating the inside of our cards too, and of course stamping matching envelopes.
Ribbons, embellishments and envelopes are included in your class fee. You'll make 9 cards (bonus card this month!) for $25 (if you BYO Stampin' Up! adhesive and Dimensionals), or 9 cards for $30 (if you use my adhesive)

Tuesday 14th or Wednesday 15th May 7pm for a 7:30 start

CCMC557 Vibrant Vases

It's Thursday, and that means it's Challenge time again over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com. This week is a colour challenge, and these are the colours we had to work with:

 

When I saw these 3 colours together, my first thought was Oh my goodness they are BRIGHT! But, that's why it's called a challenge, right?

 

I decided flowers would be perfect for these colours, so I pulled out the Vibrant Vases stamp set from the Occasions Catalogue. This co-ordinates with the Vases Builder Punch in the Annual Catalogue. I punched the vases but fussy-cut the flowers and leaves for this card. I love how they look on the Stitched Circle. I stamped the sentiment in Versamark and embossed with white powder.

 

The cute little stitched scallop border is from the Be Mine Stitched framelits (also in the Occasions Catalogue). The polka dot DSP is from the In Color patterns 6"x6" stack. I also added some Whisper White twine.

Piece of Cake Blues

This is my favourite of the batch of sweet cake cards that I made for some recent special birthdays. I love the blues in this pattern in the Needlepoint Nook Designer Series Paper.

I popped up the cake on Mini Dimensionals (cutting it out was easy, thanks to the Cake Builder punch). I stamped in Night of Navy ink and added a touch of colour using the Watercolour Pencils and Aquapainter. I love the touch of country charm added by the Night of Navy Gingham Ribbon.

The 2019 Retiring List

A Brand New Annual Catalogue is just around the corner (yes I've seen it, and yes, it's amazing!), and that means we have to make way for lots of lovely brand new products. So, it's time to say goodbye to some old favourites from the Annual Catalogue and Occasions Catalogue. Everything on the list is only available while stocks last.

• Depending on inventory levels, discounts on select products may be introduced on or after 9 May •

I think the easiest way to view what's retiring is in the Online Store (make sure you check out the Clearance Rack while you're there!).

Retiring Items Heads-Up!

Our new Annual Catalogue is due out on June 4 (I've seen it and it's amazing!!), and the Retiring List will be out tomorrow. That means lots of items are being discontinued ...have you stocked up on your 2017-19 In Color refills and cardstock yet?

We have just been given a heads-up about some items that will NOT be featuring in our new Catalogue. You might like to stock up on these while you can:

1. Due to some challenges with the manufacturer, the Stampin' Trimmer and its accessories will no longer be available. There is a new trimmer in the works, but it isn't ready just yet. Stampin' Up! hope to be able supply blades for the next 6 months, but there may be times where they are unorderable. From tomorrow (when the retiring list comes out) the blades will be limited to a purchase of 6 packs per order.
2. The Big Shot will also not appear in our new catalogue. Stampin' Up! have parted with Sizzix, and will start to use their own manufacturer. The dies and folders in the new Catalogue will be slightly different (but will still work in all machines), but their own machine isn’t quite ready yet. So just a heads up if you need blades or plates for your Big Shot. Note that retiring dies may sell out before the end of the Catalogue period, and stock will not be replenished, so grab them while you can!

Welcome to another Stampers Anonymous Team Blog Hop! This month we have a Sketch Challenge. You can make the complete circuit and see all the lovely creations by following the links at the end of each post.

Here is my take on the sketch:

I decided to go a bit girly with this sketch. This gorgeous paper is from the All My Love DSP pack. The designs and colours in this pack are just so pretty! I've combined it with the Tea Together stamp set, just stamped in black on Whisper White cardstock. I cut out a flower from the DSP to dress it up a bit. I tried popping my cup on a few different colours of stitched circles, before finally settling on vellum. Everything else looked too much, but the vellum is soft and pretty.

The sentiment is also from the Tea Together stamp set.

CCMC556 Well Said

This week is a sketch challenge, and this is the sketch we had to work with:

 

I love the simplicity of this sketch, so I decided to keep my card pretty clean and simple. The little flower is from the Made to Bloom card kit, in the Occasions Catalogue. I coloured it with Blends.

 

I love the stamp set that goes with this kit, and I've used it a LOT. In my opinion, it's worth buying the kit just for the stamp set (although the cards and box are awesome too!). An added bonus is that the sentiment stamps work really well with all the cards in the Incredible Like You Kit too.

 

My colour combo here is Lovely Lipstick, Smoky Slate and Basic Grey (with a touch of Old Olive for the leaves). The sentiment is from the Well Said bundle (both the stamped and the die-cut word). I've also used the Polka Dot embossing folder and some Whisper White Flax ribbon. The Designer Series Paper is one of the Lovely Lipstick patterns from the 2018-20 Stack.

Stepped Up Bloom

Here is the stepped-up version of THIS card. I made just a few changes, but they really add an extra dimension.
Instead of leaving the background plain, I embossed it with the Dot to Dot folder. Instead of a plain rectangle, I made it a Stitched Rectangle. Instead of just stamping the sentiment, I also used a die. And instead of stamping the dots, I used Enamel Dot embellishments.

They are all simple changes, but it really steps up this card to the next level.
