"Black Ice" is a technique that I think originated with Melissa Kerman. You can see her excellent video on Youtube. I've used the Epic Celebrations Sale-a-Bration set to make this card.
To do this technique, you’ll need:
Foil Sheets - silver, gold, or copper (try not to touch the foil sheet as you might get fingerprint marks), Basic Black Archival ink, Versamark ink, Clear embossing powder, Stamp set of your choice, Heat Tool
STEPS:
1. Cut foil sheet to size, and using the inkpad ‘direct to paper’ technique, gently swipe/drag your Basic Black inkpad down the length of the foil piece (tip: use a dab of snail to hold foil piece to your gridpaper to stop it moving around)
2. Stamp your image in Basic Black Archival ink onto the foil piece. Allow to dry (or use heat tool) 3. Use the Versamark inkpad ‘direct to paper’ technique, to VERY LIGHTLY swipe down the length of the foil piece
4. Sprinkle with clear embossing powder, tip off excess and set with heat tool. (tip: if you have been too heavy-handed with the Versamark, lightly dust off some embossing powder before heating it)
5. You can also colour the final result with Blends (I used Bronze here):
