CCMC 490 Myths and Magic Mermaid

It's Thursday, and that means it's Challenge time again over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com.
This week is a sketch challenge, and this is the sketch we had to work with:

More new stuff! One of my favourite new Suites in the upcoming Occasions Catalogue is Myths and Magic. It is so much fun to play with!
  • For this card, I've predominantly used the Designer Series Paper in the suite. It is a specialty paper, and has touches of sparkle on it. Even the mermaid image is punched from the paper.
  • I've added extra dots of sparkle using the Glitter Epoxy Shapes (also in the Occasions Catalogue).
  • The Ruffled Embossing Folder adds some gentle waves to the Lemon Lime Twist background.
  • The Happy Birthday sentiment comes from the Party Pandas set (a Sale-a-Bration set that I know everyone is going to fall in love with). I've punched it with the Classic Label punch
I hope you like my card. Check out what the other talented stampers have come up with HERE. Don't forget you can play along over on the facebook page!

Painted Sunflowers

I'm so glad this Painted Harvest stamp set is on the Carryover List! That means you can still order it, and it might even appear in our next Annual Catalogue. The bundle, however definitely won't be, so now is a good time to grab that!

Who says sunflowers have to be yellow? I think they look just as pretty in Cherry Cobbler and Pool Party!

Merriest Christmas Wishes!

With only one sleep to go, I'd like to take this opportunity to wish you and your loved ones a very Merry Christmas. I managed to send out 200 of these cards this year, and I would love to have been able to send out even more!

I used some of my favourite Holiday products on my card - the Merry Music paper, and the Watercolor Christmas stamp set (I just love that font!). I used a little bit of holly for a splash of colour. The berries are White Accents, coloured using Blends markers.

I hope your Festive Season is full of peace, love and joy and I hope it continues throughout the new year!

CCMC489 Fresh Fig Lavender

It's Thursday, and that means it's Challenge time again over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com.
This week is a colour challenge, and these are the colours we had to work with:

I wouldn't have thought to pair Fresh Fig with Soft Sky, but I really love the end result! Once again, I couldn't resist pulling out some new products, so there's a few Sneak Peaks for you here!
  • I've used 2 new Sale-a-Bration stamp sets on this card...these will be available to earn for FREE on January 3!
  • The flowers are part of a set called Lots of Lavender and the sentiment is from a set called Happy Wishes. I curved it slightly to fit in the Duet Banner punch
  • I coloured the lavender using a Blender Pen and ink, and cut it out and popped it up on dimensionals. I then adhered it to a Stitched Shapes oval
  • The Petal Pair embossing folder (a sneak peak from the upcoming Occasions Catalogue) brings a touch of texture
  • The Soft Sky Classic Weave ribbon adds a lovely finishing touch
I hope you like my card. Check out what the other talented stampers have come up with HERE. Don't forget you can play along over on the facebook page!

Watercolour Christmas

I think this has to be one of my all-time favourite kits. These Watercolor Christmas cards were super quick and easy to put together, but still look really effective. The kit is on sale at the moment...probably too late for this year's cards, but you could always put one away for next year!

Treat Tubes for Christmas

I've been using these Treat Tubes like they are going out of fashion.... but they're not going out of fashion, they are just Retiring. Like a lot of other items in the Holiday Catalogue, they are only available while stocks last. You can check out the Retiring Items HERE

I filled one of the tubes with Hot Chocolate mix, and the other with mini marshmallows. Here are 2 more I made. One Christmassy and one for any occasion, both filled with gumballs:

And here's one more I made as a little pressie for my lovely Class ladies (this time filled with Christmas m&ms):

I used the Tag Topper Punch to make a little holder, and backed it with cardstock for stability.

CCMC488 Sending Hedgehugs

It's Thursday, and that means it's Challenge time again over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com.
This week is a sketch challenge, and this is the sketch we had to work with:

I couldn't resist inking up some brand new stamps this week. How cute are these little guys?? They are a sneak peek from our upcoming Occasions Catalogue (the stamp set is called Hedgehugs....even the name is adorable!). I've used a mixture of inkpads, markers and Blends to colour my images. Lots of fussy-cutting (including chopping the top off my stump to make it shorter, so my little guy wasn't up on quite so tall a pedestal!). The strip of Designer Series Paper is another little sneak peek (from the Tutti Frutti Stack).

I hope you like my card. Check out what the other talented stampers have come up with HERE. Don't forget you can play along over on the facebook page!

Christmas Dome

I had the idea for this project floating around in my head for quite some time before I actually executed it! All it took was a Bell Jar and Twinkle Lights (from Kmart), the Hometown Greetings Edgelits and a whole lot of Big Shotting!
I made the ring of Glimmer Paper first, smaller than the diameter of my Bell Jar, so that it fits inside. Then I added the rows of houses, starting with the lowest row, and working my way up, attaching the rows using Dimensionals.
All in all, it was a pretty simple project and it looks just stunning all lit up at night!
