A Spinner for Miles

My gorgeous nephew's birthdays are only 1 day (and 4 years!) apart, which called for another interactive card. I made Miles this little bumblebee spinner for his first birthday. The little bumblebee spins his way to the hive!
I stamped matching baby bumblebees down the bottom and drew little dotted trails with a marker. So much fun!!

Leo's Spinner Card

We recently celebrated a very special birthday in our family. My gorgeous nephew Leo turned 5 (I know, can you believe it - he starts school next year!)
So of course I had to make a very special card for the birthday boy. Kids love interactive cards, so I pulled out my new Spinner framelits and made this creation. I should have taken a video of the little "Yay!" star spinning it's way merrily around the circle. It's lots of fun to play with :)
I used a couple of 5c pieces to make the spinner mechanism.
My colour combo is Bermuda Bay, Pacific Point, Tangerine Tango and Emerald Envy.

What Would Marelle Make?

 

Every year at Stamp Camp I set some Challenges. They are always optional, but lots of fun. For the past couple of years, one of the challenges has been "What would Marelle make?" I put all the pieces to make a card in a cello bag, but there is no sample card and no instructions to follow. Everyone has to make the card the way they think I would make it.
Here's what they all came up with:

Isn't it amazing how many different designs can come from the same pieces of cardstock? All very different but all equally gorgeous. You might notice a gap on the board...well that's because we had a clear winner this year. Sam Wilson proved herself to be an expert at getting into my head, and this is her card (on the right), compared to mine (on the left):

Touches of Texture Stamp-a-Stack

This is the second set of cards we are making in this week's Stamp-a-Stack class. You can do so much with the Touches of Texture stamp set...pretty flowers, plus all those background effects!
I've gone with soft pretty vintage-y colours for these cards - Wisteria Wonder, Blushing Bride, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla and Soft Suede.
A couple of little tricks here:
1. The Badge punch makes a great scallop border
2. Trim the burlap ribbon to make it narrower and use the offcut to tie a knot around it

Paisleys & Posies Stamp-a-Stack

I haven't run any classes for the past couple of weeks as I've been busy getting ready for (and then recovering from!) my team Stamp Camp weekend retreat. We manage to cram a whole lot of fun, sharing, laughs, creativity and inspiration into one weekend. Being surrounded by 34 like-minded women  is just so uplifting and re-charges my batteries like nothing else can.
And now I'm ready to get back into classes and show off the new Holiday Catalogue!
I was so happy to see a return of the Paisley trend in clothing and home décor, and then even happier when I saw Paisley stamps, dies and paper in our Holiday Catalogue.
As soon as my set arrived, I designed this set of cards with it. I've also used the new Decorative masks on the Razzleberry pieces. The sponge brayer makes it really quick and easy to make gorgeous background effects with the masks. My colour scheme on these cards is Delightful Dijon, Rich Razzleberry, Very Vanilla and Always Artichoke.
